  1. Seems to me 20v Max has been getting plenty of love the past year. Dewalt as a whole was thoroughly unimpressive to me outside of a few tools (multitool, framer, 16g nailer, etc.) but when the 887, 791/796 and 991/996 came out followed by FlexVolt it's pretty much been a "buckle up for safety!" speed of quality releases lol. I think (hope) August will be another impressive month. I also hope the August reveals are delayed a bit because I already have too much from NPS17 to spend on.
  2. Home Depot in the states seems to have everything on clearance on a regular basis lol. Here in Canada their clearances prices are barely lower than a sale price. So jealous.
  3. Nope, still the same reinvented wheel that doesn't spin as good as the wheels already on the market ? Disruptive Spinnovation!
  4. As a happy owner of the FlexVolt 12 I think the new Makita pair is looking like they could be the best 10" ever made and likely most versatile saws on the market. The capacity, extraction, tolerances and weight seem like the perfect mix.
  5. Wouldn't anticipate a 2nd gen anytime soon when they've got millions of the first to sell first lol.
  6. They get money from you either way then I suppose.
  7. What are the consequences to them from a dissatisfied customer? Is said customer going to sell all their cordless gear to change to another incomplete line? Stick with corded?
  8. @builditguy I think Milwaukee shows us that cordless LED lights in every flavour are sellers. Dewalt is losing out on easy money.
  9. Damn...that's awesome but not in the cards for me at the moment. Thanks for keeping us in mind @BMack37
  10. Welcome to the world of buying the best stuff, rather than whatever your favorite color decides you can have.
  11. Supposed to be one of the better guns of the lineup. Lots of power. Beastly driver marks etc. as per usual for Fuel I believe, but with a 15g I don't think it's as important as an 18 or 16.
  12. More like less size and weight; need to have it. They could have identical power to the old ones and the diet still would be enough to have me excited lol.
  13. @FrosBros82, the Knipex is usual pricing for them; around $75CAD. Probably $50-60 USD I would guess. My 30" were cheap. Around $35 USD I believe.
  14. I use a mastercraft maximum pair of 30" cutters. It hasn't ran into anything it couldn't handle; no shortage of locks, etc. A compact pair of Knipex cobolts are on my wish list. 8" compacts seem handy and I've heard positive things.
  15. My screwdrivers are Wera, wrenches/sockets are all Mastercraft and Mastercraft Maximum (Canadian Tire house brand). I'll be adding a plethora of Wera Jokers to the lineup and I'm interested in the new Milwaukee Taiwanese combo wrenches. My only "adjustables" are 4 pairs of Knipex pliers wrench and 4 Cobras/Raptor. All my pliers are Knipex. My hammers are a handful of Estwings in various weights and faces. All of my impact wrenches are M18 Fuel. I enjoy high end hand tools, but where impact sockets are concerned I'm quite happy with value priced chrome-moly sockets. Country of origin is reasonably important to me but I have absolutely no interest in buying overpriced (in my opinion) wrenches manufactured by a finance company with good service: ie, SnapOn.
  16. Yeah, the meat head on your crew can drive screws into a random 2x6 for an hour and go home and look more productive than the rest of the crew ?
  17. @SetBuilder that cooler looks reasonable but I use a 20 quart Pelican that lives in the backseat of my truck. I pop a 5lb freezer pack in it once or twice a week depending on weather and its paid for itself multiple times over. It's bulletproof, I eat healthier, and the freezer pack lasts ages. For the guys working on the top of a high rise I'm sure a soft cooler is nice but there's no way that thing will perform the way I would want it to (ie; optimize my laziness and survive a 40* truck cab for days at a time lol).

@Jronman I'd bet money that there's no way in hell it uses a true worm drive mechanism. Way too much parasitic power loss and energy demand for that design on a cordless if my understanding is correct.
  19. Good point @KnarlyCarl, I also have a pair of kraftform kompact; tons of bits to get into all kinds of trouble ? I have a collection of bits for fasteners I didn't even know existed.
  20. I use an Empire, which seems reasonable but I really ought to check it after seeing these results lol.
  21. I have probably over two dozen Wera drivers. The chiseltip are absolute beasts but the lasertip Phillips are absolutely amazing. Worth every penny and then some.

I've seen video of it firing through steel if I'm not mistaken.

Hmm. That fan is very reminiscent of my M18 one which I'm not incredibly fond of but the fan does have more thoughtful features; adjustable speed via a dial first and foremost. Also answers any any question regarding the concrete nailers power source; battery only. No cartridges.
  24. FlexVolt first seems the obvious choice given their track record. Plus they'll want to outdo Makita which a 20v Max model won't accomplish.
