  1. Good points but I don't consider the 9.0 a seperate platform. Since getting my 9.0's I've used it on my flashlight, flood light, 6.5 saw, multitool, sawzall, and drill. Never at any point did I think 'man this battery is too much I need a smaller battery' . I don't think it's really that big at all once on a tool. I use mine on my drill pretty often and a guy I work with actually keeps a 9.0 on his drill because he prefers the runtime.
  2. Anyone seen these new 22v batteries? Backwards compatible with their 18v tools. Is this going to be the trend now, everyone going to some type of flexvolt tools and batteries? I think so in order to get some more powerful tools
  3. U have a link for the systainer ur using for the hole hawg? I'm looking for a good hard case, I don't like having bags piled up
  4. I know just wishful thinking! I want their new 3 speed drill now! Lol
  5. I know I just don't want to get in another battery platform. All my other milwaukee tools are great and problem free so I just don't get it. Hopefully Milwaukee won't make me wait years before they update this drill
  6. Sooo..... was recently drilling some tapcons and the bit got stuck in the chuck . No biggie it happens, a lot of elbow grease and got it out but something felt off. I noticed the chuck now has a lot of up/down play like something came loose inside so I'll be sending it in for service. Now back to the point of this thread- I decided to buy a back-up drill while that one is out, same 2704. Opened the box, put a battery in it and nothing. Switch between drill/ hammer modes and still nothing. Put in reverse and it works fine. Then I put it back in forward and get nothing again. Squeeze the trigger a handful of times and it starts up I hear an awful clank and grinding noise and it stops again. My luck is kinda funny at this point lol so I just thought I'd update this thread
  7. The 9.0 is offered with the kit. Home Depot and everywhere has it. I bought mine from home Depot, they had a promo for $100 off so I jumped on it. I was in the same boat debating between the hole hawg, super hawg and dewalts new stud and joist drill http://m.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-18-Volt-Brushless-Lithium-Ion-1-2-in-HOLE-HAWG-Right-Angle-Drill-Kit-with-QUIK-LOK-HIGH-DEMAND-Kit-2708-22HD/300437233
  8. With the 2704 in high speed it's all or nothing. If it can do it then it will do it fast otherwise it just stops. The hole hawg although it has slower rpms will just keep pushing thru. It's not as sensitive and makes it feel like a tank. That's with a 9.0 tho, I can't speak for a 5.0. I tried a 5.0 for a few holes and it did seem weaker so I stopped and only use the 9.0 on it now
  9. My hole hawg with 9.0 will chew thru nails, I know the 2704 won't. Thinking back now I know it's stopped on a nail or two but on average it chews right thru them. I didn't expect the hole hawg to be able to do that but it does and I'm really impressed. Totally controllable, no kick back, I use it one hand d all the time as well. It's great now I hardly use my drill at all when I'm roughing in houses. My boss was so impress d that he bought another one, then switched over from ridged to Milwaukee and bought all new tools and lights and batteries he went nuts lol
  10. I actually like the idea but I have a small waist so I wonder if there's enough room on my belt with 2 pouches and a hammer already. I used to use one of those swivel hooks for a long time but it always swiveled out of position it just got too annoying to use anymore
  11. Ohio power tool is doing a $100 trade in on old tools with purchase of a fuel kit
  12. It looks like it's brushed, not brushless
  13. I just carry mine on the front between my right pouch and the buckle but climbing ladders it will fall out. My boss, with that same belt, carries his on his back next to his hammer. Just the belt hook onto the belt. I never see him struggle with it so it must work well for him. I used to wear one of those tool hooks on my belt on the back. They work good as far as holding your drill etc without falling out but they twist and turn and ur always fighting to get it in there it just got so annoying I just got rid of it.
  14. I've heard this repeated so many times and I agree! I've said it before but I'd like to see Milwaukee keep their current drill as a premium compact version and come out with something 3 speed and better lighting even if it is a bit bigger. They are so focused on being the smallest and strongest but their gen 2 drill is so small now I don't see how they can continue on that same path.
  15. They are just measuring the max torque in whatever gear provides it. In the 2704 that happens to be low gear and the since the hole hawg only has one gear that's it. They aren't comparing, u/we are. I felt the same way until I bought the hole hawg. Now I feel like it's trying to compare a sawzall with a bandsaw. Although they can be used for similar tasks I think they are 2 different tools with 2 different purposes. All I can say is that the hole hawg feels like a beast, even compared to my 2704. I can't even imagine what the dewalt stud and joist drill feels like
  16. I've been seeing a lot of requests recently in high end residential for outlets to be put down low in base boards. I was told the trend comes from New York, I wonder if anyone else is seeing this. I hate it lol
  17. I wish the gear selector on the 2704 was recessed like the 996. It's too easy to bump while drilling and the grinding noise that follows just isn't good
  18. I can't speak for tools but I buy redwing and Danner boots that are made in the USA and I always end up with defected boots- one boot bigger and/or longer than the other, crooked stitching, uppers crooked from the lowers. I hate to say it but I prefer a machine made boot over a hand made boot. USA tags just don't always speak quality anymore
  19. Nevermind, I started changing stores and it popped up, I wonder why it does that
  20. That's crazy I had to look it up and my hd is still showing 249
  21. Not a tool but I got a mountain bike today, haven't had one since I was a kid, and man do I feel like a kid again! Lol hills really kicked my ass tho!
