  1. I'm trying to vote but it keeps saying " authentication failed". I'm on my phone, I'll have to try from my laptop
  2. Here's a quick article I found explaining an armature. It makes sense. My drill first smoked a little a few months ago, very little so I shrugged it off but I did notice that it didn't have the power/torque that it used to have
  3. Well got my drill back today. They replaced the armature. I'm not sure what that is but hopefully it's fixed and I'll try it out at work tomorrow. I will say this tho about the new chuck they put on it-zero wobble! I even put an old hammer drill bit in it just to see and it spins as true as I've ever seen so I'm really happy to see that! The old wobble really used to bug me. So can anyone tell me what the armature is?
  4. I wonder if it'd work with the hammer drill/impact flexvolt kit?
  5. Lots of info here thanks. With all that said I'm suprised Milwaukee would use the 18650 in their 6.0 , ithought their battery tech was supposed to be top of the line. I started out with dewalt tools and a year ago I switched to Milwaukee. The one thing I've noticed is that when using my Milwaukee drill I can tell u the exact moment the battery is halfway run down because u notice the power/performance drop. Theres a lot more to batteries than I thought and I'm just starting to get into it and read about it so thanks for the info.
  6. Since u guys brought up flexvolt I have another question. I read somewhere about a tool having a noticeable power increase going from a compact battery to a higher capacity 10 cell battery. Now would u see a noticeable power increase using a flexvolt battery because it has 15 cells vs a 4 or 5 ah battery with 10 cells?
  7. http://toolguyd.com/dewalt-2016-media-event-5-hot-tools/ if u scroll down you'll see it
  8. Sure but I was reading on toolguyd he had an article on the dewalt media event and he even showed a picture of the 20v xr 6.0 battery that is supposed to be released
  9. I've been using my dewalt tools more lately now that my Milwaukee drill is out for service. I could use some new batteries tho as all I have is the old 3.0, so anyone know when the 6 is supposed to come out?
  10. Yes I did, 1 copy in the box and 1 copy for myself like it said, and ur right I didn't think about that so even with a copy they still messed it up. The woman I spoke with was the opposite of helpful and I felt like I was talking to eeyore. I'm going to call back tomorrow and see if someone can help me. Obviously I need to send it back again but maybe they can expedite the shipping or do something but I need my drill I use it everyday
  11. I'm a little ticked right now. I sent my fuel drill in last week for service because I had 3 issues- smoking motor, occasionally the drill would go unresponsive which I've overlooked all this time but since I was sending it in I thought I'd let them know about it, and a wobbly chuck which again just thought I'd let them know about it. I got my drill back today with a new chuck on it and the other issues where not checked or resolved. Called Milwaukee and all they could say is their ticket says nothing about the motor burning and only shows the chuck problem listed. Not sure how that gets messed up, I have the copy of the e-service ticket I filled out that shows all 3 issues listed.
  12. I don't know if it's redlink or maybe that's for the battery but I thought they had a feature that would stop the drill before it over heats?
  13. there was a comment about how hot Milwaukee tools get and I gotta agree. I've heard that from a few people and experienced it. even their brushless fuel drills seem to get much hotter than the dewalt drills I've used.
  14. So I just did the e-service online and only took 5 minutes! I don't have to send the whole kit back, only the drill. Man that was easy! Hopefully it gets back quick because I have to figure out what to do for a back up drill now
  15. I'm kinda with u this one. In the last year I watched a handful of drills get smoked, including my own now, sawzall, grinder...all fuel tools. i always felt that dewalt tools kinda felt cheap when using them but they are still going strong. I switched over to Milwaukee this and starting to get nervous now after everything I've seen
  16. It's the 2704 with 5ah battery and the grinder was not the fuel, it's the older model
  17. So my gen 2 hammer drill is only about a year old. Today I needed to drill thru a few studs and used my co-workers long 5/8 auger bit. Going thru 2 studs it struggled a bit and here comes the smoke. I was suprised especially with such a small hole. The drill still works and finished out the day with no other trouble but my question is if this is a concern and should I call Milwaukee? Something obviously burned in there and I thought there's overload protection that's supposed to stop that from happening? This is actually the second tool this week to do this too. I bought a the m18 grinder and was grinding four bolts off of a lamp post and it sat there smoking for a good 5 minutes. The grinder went back to HD but I love this drill so I'd like to figure this out
  18. That looked bad but after the stall it looks like it went thru the last 4 nails easily. Either way after all the hype I was expecting the flexvolt to really dominate the Milwaukee and that didn't happen.
  19. All my saws are husqvarna but I stayed away from their blower, that's just not something they are known for and prob for a reason. I have the big echo backpack blower and my neighbor has the stihl Br600. Not sure what the specs are but its definitely noticeable that mine is more powerful. I can blow a brick down the driveway and I'll even blow the snow off my drive in the winter. also if I remember right echo is 2 stroke vs stihl 4 stroke which I believe are less powerful. I know stihl puts a smaller reducer on the end of the blower to make up for it and it channels the air to make it blow harder which is where they get their cfm rating . the narrow stream of air doesn't move big piles of leaves as well tho.
  20. That radio has great sound quality, I use mine all the time for parties, cook outs, even by the campfire my wife loves playing her Pandora thru the bluetooth
  21. I looked at the link above not dewalts website
  22. Just noticed the stud and joist drill only has a 1 year limited warranty! I was considering it til I saw that
  23. Oh and I hate how jay Dee cleaners calls me once a month for the last YEAR and leaves screaming voicemails about their 20% off everything in the store deal! I don't fing care! Stop calling me! They've been calling me for so long now that I forget sometimes and when I see the number calling it'll look familiar so I pick it up just to hear the same dumb azz screaming " Jaydee cleaners 20% off everything everything everything...!!" I get so mad I usually hang up by the third time he says "everything" lol
  24. I hate when someone calls two even three times in a row! I'm working! If I could answer then I would've picked up the first time!
  25. That was weird... Woke up to find my account suspended, not sure if I offended someone or because I swore in my post but I edited it out. Either way I should've pushed it at the time or asked to speak with someone else but it's too late now
