  1. I have the 6 in version and it is a noticeable difference between having gears engaged vs disengaged. Also it has a 5 mm oscilation on the 6 in where the 5 in only has a 3 mm. One thing I have found is Rotex mode generates a ton of caking on the sandpaper if you don't have proper dust collection. Also is sands faster and extends the life of the paper when hooked up to a good vac.
  2. Looks like you will have to get the gen 2 tough system. I don't know much info on them yet.
  3. Awesome. Judging by the size probably a domino 500 and the box o' dominos?
  4. If you can't get the DeWALT you could try the EGO. It even has spots for 3 cords instead of just one.
  5. Maffel, some festool, some metabo, some bosch
  6. The atomic impact is only smaller in one dimension vs the 887. Everyone seems to be comparing the atomic, an entry level impact, to the 887, a premium level impact, but when compared to DeWALT's entry level impact the 885 or the brushless counterpart to the 885, is the atomic not better?
  7. Ordered the m12 stubby and Milwaukees new anti roll sockets. They didn't offer them in 1/2 drive so I got 3/8 drive. I got the stubby in 1/2 in by mistake. I contacted acme about switching to the 3/8 before my order shipps since they are the same price but I am waiting on their reply.
  8. I would have to disagree. Even if you are talking only battery powered blowers, Greenworks makes one that is 640 cfm at 160 mph. If you include gas blowers then you got ones that are reaching 800 cfm.
  9. Have you tried a freshly charged battery?
  10. The Kobalt is a newer plarform. It has seemed to me to be a decent entry level brand. I would go Kobalt.
  11. I bought the hedge trimmer attachment for my Ego power head. I also got a couple pour spouts for a couple gas cans that I had that didn't have pour spouts. I also got a set of metric hex wrenches because I have had a time or 2 where I needed metric when all I had was sae.
  12. hopefully the calibration issues are fixed.

    Makita battery info

there are adapters for Ryobi tools to allow you to use other brand batteries on Ryobi tools.
  14. So basically a normal circular saw with a swapped out base plate. I like the Bosch where they not only have guide rail compatibility but they added some features that you get from track saws.

    Mr

A cordless Kapex is in the works and their track saw TS55/TSC55 is getting an update which will include compatibility to the HK/HKC guide rails according to a Festool rep. According to rumors a cordless grinder is in the works. Other than that I don't know of any other Festool offerings coming out.
  16. The only advantage function wise of the van version over the shop version is the van version brackets fold.
  17. Neither did the Reaxx and yet SawStop got it banned from Merica. I don't know if this tech will be in all three of Felders lines (Hammer, Felder, Format 4) but for sure it will be in their Format 4 line which is their top of the line saw with all the bells and whistles and quality to go with. I would think their Felder line would be similar quality to a SawStop, so it might get the tech. Supposedly their Hammer line is their entry level brand so I doubt they will put it into this line at least at the start, but I could be surprised. My dream saw would be a format 4 with all the bells and whistles because why not or a similar saw from another brand with similar cnc features. Only thing is they take up a lot more space than a Merican style industrial table saw.
  18. not sure I thought I seen a new Ryobi push mower come out recently. Maybe it fixed those issues?
  19. Felder has recently announced a new attempt at flesh sensing tech in table saws called Preventative Contact System. Is it better than SawStop or Bosch Reaxx? I think so. They use electro magnets to lower the blade. Also has an approach feature where if an unexpected fast approach occurs the system will trigger. There is no consumable parts and therefore requires no maintenance in fact to reset the blade you just press a button on the control panel. If/when the system triggers you won't be out a bunch of money because you had to replace parts on the tool or have an expensive medical bill. I doubt it will come to North America. I expect you know who will be suing Felder the moment the saw with this tech goes on sale. https://www.felder-group.com/fg-en/pcs.html
  20. Wait a sec, your trying to tell me the Makita blade is better than the Hilti?
  21. probably just needs lubrication on the blade clamp but I don't know of anyone who lubs their recip saw so probably not the issue. They will eventually fail and depending on the use 4 years may not be unusual. If it is used maybe once a week at most probably should not have failed but if it is multiple blade changes per day then might be a reasonable amount of life on the clamp?
