  1. Bought some stuff for my rotex: updated multi jetstream 2 hard pad, protector pad for if I ever get net based sandpaper, the thiner interface pad, and the thicker interface pad. I am also going to make my own sandpaper systainer and router bit systainer. The Festool ones were pricey for what they were so I got a Tanos SYS III and a Kaizen foam insert that I will cut out for the sandpaper. I also got a Fein SYS I, a Kaizen Foam insert to cut out for the router bits, and a set of hollow punch bits to drill out the foam for the router bits.
  2. I think there was a post awhile back but if I remember right, the only thing mentioned was new brushless tools. No specifics on what tools coming.
  3. how are the new 2 drawer units not released? Acme has them in stock.
  4. I recieved the other day a $100 visa card from the Festool promotion they did last year and bought some tools. I bought a 4 pack of limited edition Stabila levels for around $80. If you are interested I would buy as soon as possible. I got them from Acme Tools. I also bought a 10 pack of the updated Multi Jetstream 2 sandpaper. I just need to buy one of the new pads now haha.
  5. The cooling performance of the gen 3 is a downgrade over the gen 2 and the DeWALT.

    Real or fake

The 18v stick pack grinder doesn't have much power to begin with. I would imagine it is probably a genuine unit. A picture would probably help us determine if it is genuine or not. If you want more power you might be able to try getting the slide pack adapter and using a 4 amp hour or 5 amp hour. They can provide a bit more power noticeable in some higher demand tools.
  7. If you're going gas commercial you could try Echo, Makita, Husqvarna. If you are going battery commercial (yes that is a thing now) you could wait for Ego's commercial line to arrive in the states. The 29 amp hour backpack battery will give you good runtime too.
  8. I am selling a DeWALT cordless planer DCP580 for $100. It has had light use. It will include the planer, edge guide, wrench, and tool bag. Status: Sold I am selling three DeWALT DCB118 8amp fan cooled chargers for $40 each. They are in like new condition. Status: Available, Available, Available
  9. So excited for this. Don't know why. I despise corded tools haha. Found a video on it and it was awesome. It is better than the DeWALT but more expensive too. You will pay around $1800 for the 4x 7.5 amp hour kit. I like how you can hot swap batteries while it is running and have up to 2000 watt output when using 7.5 amp hour batteries. Also the batteries are getting an update with a new fuel gauge. 5 bars in a circle around the button instead of a solid ring. Also not mentioned in video there is a new cultivator attachment for the power head system.
  10. They are quite a bit more efficient and much brighter per watt than incandescent. They are starting to become more affordable too.
  11. the only thing I have heard is most recommend getting genuine batteries over cheap. I would agree. Safety could be of concern with cheaper electronics.
  12. I have really gotten into watching shop tour videos as of late and have noticed a trend. I thought it was interesting to see guys who would only buy homeowner grade tools because "you don't need these premium tools or don't need those expensive tools", some even specifically say they won't buy premium, go out and buy a SawStop, one of the most premium table saws available in North America. Just curious what your guys thoughts are on this trend.
  13. NIce setup. Have you considered upgrading to led lights inside the trailer?
  14. I don't know anything about these compressors but less noise is always a plus.
  15. This is the first time I have heard about this product. It sounds awesome.
  16. It would be nice if vacs were rated for their cfm at the end of their factory hose instead of at the motor.
  17. I agree. I think a lot more pros would be getting the tough system version. Personally I don't think the current vac would have been worthy of the tough system name. Two batteries and at least 150 cfm would be worthy of the tough system name in my opinion.
  18. Are you talking about the new cordless or the corded?
  19. Ever since they started keeping records there has never been a tornado within city limits at least that is what I have heard.
  20. How does this compare to the flexvolt DCS577?
  21. Awesome find. I think the cabinet style table saws from SawStop have the best on/off switches. One switch to turn on and off.
  22. I took my DCS355 OMT to the service center near where I live to see what the problem was and if it would be worth fixing. I finally got it back. Turns out the bearing was shot and the gear housing also had some issues. They deemed it not worth fixing and I would agree. $200 to fix it or buy a brand new one for less than $200. I have decided against getting another DCS355 OMT. I am considering upgrading to the Festool Vecturo OSC 18. I already have the batteries and the fact it has Starlock Max is a huge bonus. It has some parts based off of the Fein Supercut which means it should be comparable in performance to the Supercut. I'm hoping Starlock will be a good as they say.
  23. This past week I was contacted by a guy who had interest in one of my plans. That got me thinking. Is selling my plans worth it? and if it is how do I go about pricing the plans? Are the plans even worth charging $5-$20 for? If I use a program other than Sketchup are people even going to consider downloading the plans? I am more interested in selling the plans than selling the furniture itself. I had some interest already in getting a website for my new business (going to start lawn care in the spring) and thought I could include my furniture design there as well. If it allows me to break even with the website that I was planning to get, might not be a bad option just to keep my name out there.
  24. The power tool division of Hitachi was bought out which means the name had to change because the rights to the name did not come with the purchase. The company that made the purchase changed the name to Metabo HPT. It was an interesting name change considering they also own Metabo (without the hpt). I think the fact that their names are so similar, people are going to mistake one brand for the other.
