    Sale

Just a heads up ....good sale at acme tools today
  2. Great point on the runtime w a dust extractor vs not......never tried a Makita bit...usually get Bosch..probably because they are in my face at HD.....
  3. Is that 399 bare @Hugh Jass ? I thought the dust extractor for the 273 worked on the 293..? ....I haven't pulled the trigger yet...but I'm probably going to follow you on that one...the flex sds 1"9/16 is just to big and heavy I think.....

    Work light

I'm with you @77Ford,,.it really doesn't seem that hard to figure out what attracts people to your brand and how to keep them......Dewalt sure does loose a lot of customers by not expanding their existing lines....thing is we would be loyal if they had all the tools we needed.........c'mon....lighting.?? Dewalt can't make some decent lights to choose from ? Instead of helping ..NASA with their "rocket " program........

    Work light

Dewalt makes innovated, brilliant tools....they just don't make enough of them to complete any line......it's truly aggravating! More POWA!
  6. The new Dewalt.."XP" tapes look good...
  7. Don't .."shop guys" use giant heavy machines..the last shop brand I remember seeing that was tops was ..Delta...but I'm not a shop guy....I thought big stationary stations was what they did....my bud who is old like me had a big shop with fixed tools like "Norm " did on this old house....I really don't know
  8. I hope also...but wise words @Bremon to plan around not having the adapter...I personally like acme, because they have new tools early and have great deals and returns are no problem...but almost all framers I know just buy off the shelf at lowes or Home Depot ,because it's easy and convenient to return tools if needed.. .. of course my Hilti products I get from a salesman who comes by in a van full of shiny red tools...like Santa , but far from Free ! .and takes care of repairs if needed. ..... More Tools....More POWA !
  9. 60v adapter ,no ? Not what I heard.... they won't sell a lot of 10" ,,120v table saws,,,too heavy...might as well be corded...even the 12" mitresaw isn't selling so good...too heavy,,,..the same 12" mitresaws sit on the shelf at Home Depot....all the contractors I know want a light 10"cordless mitresaw..and love the 8.25" tablesaw....if your ripping more then 1.5" stock ,you should be using a corded version...
  10. @Grumpy MSG...gotta say ,thanks for serving ,my daughter is a Marine....this is one heck of a discussion over a 12v battery or a AA battery in a laser.... ....I will say ,as you know ..I'm a Dewalt guy...but..M12 does rule, the 12v world , period (except ergonomics goes to Dewalt) if someone wants the green laser ,gotta buy into Dewalt 12v...that's how it is ..if someone wants ..THE BEST CORDLESS EVERYTHING (but sawzall) THEN YOU GOTTA BUY INTO ...FLEXVOLT........I can't wait for my Dewalt 5 point /cross line Green Laser to arrive.yes with the 12v battery,,,,.....more More POWA,..More TOOLS,,..Dewalt
  11. Ya man gotta have the dots......need to plumb walls....laser dot ,bottom plate to top plate...or plumb a 60' gable wall.....plus green for outside setting deck ledgers.....I wish @Bremon I didn't have to buy many different lasers...hated the Bosch,I was told PLS had a much smaller dot diameter ,,nope...last one was Hilti...it's ok....can't read it in bright sun...I'm hoping the " green " Dewalt 5 dot / crossline is the last one I buy...... . ...I wish Dewalt had all the cordless tools I needed..to be a one brand guy..but no one has a full line of all the framing/deck tools I need............I never used cordless tools before ,I actually started with the 12v Dewalt line and quickly realized ,there was no line of tools...went to 20v max...
  12. Personally don't care either way....if your in the Dewalt line ,,I'm quite sure you own at least a couple 12v batteries.....I use a laser everyday, it's on maybe an 1 hr total all day...5min here and there...Dewalt specs it 50hrs using the dots..for me that's all week maybe 2weeks......I pack a couple 12v anyway ,why? I don't know ,I have Dewalt 12v tools but never use em...I'd rather charge my 12v once a month then be buying batteries........... . ....but if the laser ran on batteries,,I'd buy stock in "Duracell " and buy a shitload of em,,,....I'm just glad they made a ....green.... 5 dot and cross line......I own a Bosch,..Hilti...PLS....all red ...looking forward to green....Dewalt ! ! ! !
  13. I like em....been waiting for a 5 dot green...tough to see red outside
  14. I hear ya, @Bremon...battery life goes down with thicker blades though,,,I know through testing ...and I know you disagree,( i respect that) which is fine if you work alone or with one guy,,,,but with a huge crew ,guys can't be walking to the charger changing out batteries,..every trip is money wasted... but I will say the crew love the flex circ and not having cords.......if I was on a demo job I'd change to that demo demon......
  15. On a table saw or mitrebox...not so thin kerf...(deflection does happen) but on my flex circ saw ..I'll stay with flex blades...they are bad ass..just don't hit a nail with em...bye bye...where a thicker kerf will survive a hit or two....
  16. @Jronman....no can't say I've used free ...service.....my tools get worked hard and in rain,snow,heat,mud,sand....but I wipe em down and blow em out ,,oil what I can after every use and get years out of them...i expect 5 years of hard use ,,then I'll buy new again..if it still works il wait till it's dead....but I've returned tools that died up to 3 years at HD and got a full purchase price store credit every time.....never refused.....plus if Acme has a sale ,,,HD will price match anyone..so making returns is easy.....Never had a problem with Acme either...... . ...plus I think I'd do a better job ....servicing ...my own tools and I can't waste the time without them....I use em everyday ..7 days a week...
  17. Absolutely....dewalt is generally,,carpentry....Milwaukee,, plumbers...ya some crossover stuff,,,,Makita is good too in both worlds....there's always a tool here or there that's just better and you buy into the other system......OPE...Milwaukee and Dewalt battery stuff about equal,,a few cfm or mph here or there....the Dewalt 40v OPE stuff I hear is real good.....I have the 20v max ope and badass EGO ope
  18. Yup yup @Bremon ! I see Contributing Editor. Which means ...I get free tools and write articles ,no pouch,no hammer,no tool in hand...not much ..Framing ...going on...and I do like Milwaukee, who wouldn't ..great company...great sawzalls...great tools....I'm just invested in Dewalt..
  19. While I appreciate progress,,and will buy a couple of them...R and D really could of made the fly wheel and body much much smaller....limit the brad size to 5/8" to 1 1/2" ....as stated by others...it's a brad gun ....not much effort went into this one...it's disappointing....looks like the same size or slightly smaller...bigger isn't always better......cmon Dewalt!
  20. So if you want to cut 1.5" stock it's ...Fuel...and for large diameter stock it's Flex.. . ..so if you do roof demo work and need a rafter hook ,,,it's FUEL...and if you cut everything else ..it's Flex....if you want to buy into a system for framers that don't use mitre saws, table saws, right blade saws don't have good finish guns, .........it's Fuel.....if you want to buy into a system where the majority of framers use..table saws..mitre box,,blade right saws..framing guns..finish guns..brad guns..table saws..hanger guns..power stations...and every other tool with lights.........it's ...Flex...........interesting article that a "framer" is 80% cordless but doesn't use most of the cordless tools available.,and recommends buying into Milwaukee where he doesn't use any other of their carpentry cordless tools and where Dewalt has the majority of carpentry cordless tools.....weird.... . ...but I do love tool articles,,,thank you
  21. Checking out eu websites..their kits come in tstak boxes..v and vi ..I don't buy kits so I'm wondering ,if USA kits come in tstak boxes or toughboxes ?
  22. I'm glad new tools are coming and being fully invested in Dewalt , I'll get one or two but that 18g could have been much smaller only shooting brads, long time to wait for a simple new magazine and extended arm for straight nails......should have been much smaller
  23. Where's the new tools already ?!! More POWA
