  1. I hear that......guys at work love makita...they do have a very strong line up of tools.....it's a solid company,I'd say 3rd best behind Milwaukee and Dewalt....being a Dewalt guy I'm heavily invested...if I bring too many " RED" tools home , my garage will revolt against me...doors won't open, the floor will crack, sheet rock will start to fall off..the heater won't work.....lol......but Milwaukee is a great company they just didn't have nailers when I started buying into Dewalt
  2. Those houses were 34 ft by 26ft .."cape style" 2 story..full 2nd flr dormer....2bedroom 1bath upstairs...1bed , living room..kitchen ..bath 1st floor..which includes a full depth cellar...bulkhead........stairs ..everything but roof shingles and sidewall... ....for many many many years we built houses every 2/3days ..3/4 framers........we build larger custom homes now and oceanfront homes.....a cordless gun can't frame like that...it's not supposed to...
  3. We have built 4 houses in one week..5 days....10 experienced framers..12hr days...that is the frame..plywooded..interior walls...windows..doors installed...exterior trim....
  4. Never had a problem with my 3 dcn692 cordless framers....never changed the springs,,,works great all the time every season.....1500 to 2000 nails a week building decks...that means shooting in harder material not ..kd or spruce... ......I'm a builder,,,framer..only air guns can keep up with framing houses....not sure how the guy only using cordless nailers installs plywood??? Code is a .131 2 1/2" ring shank coil nail...and there are no cordless coil nailers.. but for building knee walls, partitions, cellar walls,decks..remodeling...the Dewalt cordless are great.....paslode is good, not better and more expensive per week..period... . . Experience...love to meet anyone that has built more houses per year..per week....
  5. I just disagree with Dewalt and other companies philosophy.....when Dewalt developed 20v max and didn't have an adapter for 5yrs. for the 18v buyers ..they lost thousands of loyal customers pissed off......... . ...builders,construction co., spend tens of thousands of dollars on tools..not like a DIY guy buying 1 Planning and budgets are key to companies success ,, I think the opposite...Dewalt would make more money and build loyalty by announcing new tools 6 months ahead of release..then release them on time ,to preorders first then the masses....other companies could not build that new tool in 6months ..plus brand loyalty is huge...but I'm not a billion dollar tool maker.....just a builder ...
  6. Ya ..don't know how to get invited...I've built well over a 1000 custom homes....from 200000 to 10mil.....I enjoy building neighborhoods for middle class hard working people....then going back to visit them years later,it's rewarding.... . ..of course building a multi million dollar home on the ocean is just as rewarding ...to me building houses is like ..art...none are the same ,each has its own personality, difficulties and rewards....to meet the new owners or home lottery winners walk in their new home ,happy ,smiling ..kids running around .(hey, that's my room !) .is a great feeling....... ............I just wish I could use my vast experience with tools on a daily basis to help manufacturers (Dewalt) develop, build, tweak the tools we want....and change the horrible roll out of new tools, the preorder crapshoot, and not knowing what New Tools are coming ....so companies can plan ahead for new tools coming ,,instead of jumping into other tool brands not knowing what's coming.....
  7. We go through 20-30 people a year.that I hire and fire or they quit......it has been my experience that unfortunate people do not want to work ,but rather just have the hand out....not all,but many many....I've tried to help a lot by inviting them to work for the day and get paid that day at a fair wage (16hr) for a laborer.....most refuse and just say.." you got a 20$" ..........
  8. How ...how does one get chosen for that...? I want in...I want to give input on what the builders need...want....Oh Dewalt let me help you...." help me help you" jerry maguire.....I will personally help Dewalt make millions....and avoid bad tool decisions.....lucky lucky people...
  9. If I had that kinda loot ,,it would be in my nature to help people...not the homeless...but the ..toolless...those without tools, those who Need more tools and of course a 10 step program for the toolaholics......
  10. Good to know.about these tools...when...is what I want to know.............also...damn ..skippy..how the heck does a 30 yr master framer with vast experience and enormous amount of money and time invested in ..Dewalt ...tools get the Privilege of seeing, using and commenting on prototype tools, real tools, imaginary tools..???????
  11. We have rigid boxes, cuz Dewalt didn't have any....but they look good...
  12. Don't know if I'd win that tool contest, but I do love buying and using tools...we know who the storage containers winner would be....

    Job box

Very tough to pry open...I'd say you can't break in,unless you pick the lock
  14. Even more ...love my Ryobi stuff....now I gotta get those ..lights..inflater..sander...hopefully a cordless compressor...and those bigger batteries.....gonna wait to jump into rigid....
  15. Man,hoping for new tools, different tools to expand both Flexvolt and 20v max...stuff like rigid is doing...10" mitre..60v adapter..smaller batteries but more powerful...BIG wish list....
  16. I hear ya...but I don't regret buying tools, even if I don't use them,,a lot are brand new in the box...I figure someday I'll need it and BAM there it is ...my grampa had to have hundreds maybe thousands of tools...shit I never heard of or ever saw before, but if he or I ever needed something he had it....weird cuz years go buy and I'd say gramps you got a ...." " and he'd go ya I got two ,I'll go get one.....loved that guy
  17. That would be handy.....thanks for the info ..
  18. The infamous...hole hawg...
  19. Hugh Jass .....made a Great point to.....don't be a Pussy when using the nailer....hold the nailer FIRM ...stay in contact with the material...Steady Pressure....Pull the trigger...Be A Man,Damn It.....You Controll the Tool ,Don't let the tool Controll You......
  20. Can't go wrong with Dewalt Logan......I personally love the paslode cordless nailers ,they are smaller, lighter and work amazing.....but.....even with the new (all season fuel cells) they can be sluggish in cold temps...the added cost of buying fuel cells...the smell.......I'm All in with Dewalt so,,, slap a 5ah or flex 6ah (better) and and build away man.....Dewalt makes me money...
  21. Hey (jrs)....I use 3/4 of a box of paslodes a weekend ( 2000 ..per box).for every weekend since it came out... 1500 x 50(wks) 75000 year , don't remember when it came out 1yr ago ,1 1/2yr ago ? Don't know.....lot of nails........in snow,rain,heat,dust,dirt,....I clean my tools after every use ,oil, where appropriate.... ..I've really had good luck with tools or maybe cuz I'm OCD on taking care of them....don't know.....I bought a dcn693 and when it arrived the spring to hold the nails in was broke...acme sent a new one the next day and I never had a problem since......don't use wet or damp nail clips, use paslode....(also you can return tools every year,if the brake and get store credit and get a new one ),,,..........it's like tapes...I bought 4 craftsman 30' tapes ONCE...and never bought another tape for 20years, (they break ,then you return them )......Craftsman stopped that policy so I bought 4 Dewalt 30' and return them every 90 days ( they brake) ya know........ ......I have never used a repair service EVER...I have never had a problem returning a tool to any store ever....even after 1 year.... .
  22. A frugal shopper pays 250 for flex sawzall kit (50 off) and gets a free flex battery.....my idols...77ford and Ricky will pay 3cents......you gotta shop DEALS... . If your going for Big POWA you need Big Batteries to run those Big Tools,,to maximize that tools potential...that is where it becomes an even playing field...you Must buy a Big M18 9ah or a Big Flex 9ah ..to PROPERLY power those high demand tools,.then use that battery on ANY other tool.....as Bman says if you want your 2ah -5ah batteries to power ALL your cordless tools and think that no matter what bare tool you buy that those batteries are enough , ,,, ,you will be very disappointed, underpowered and in many situations completely waste that tools ability....resulting in underwhelming results and productivity........from my experience MORE POWA .
