  1. Never a had a problem with my 3 I have......I frame with it and build decks every weekend ,I use 3 1/2" paslode galv paper nails..nailing into 2x10 pressure treated joist and 6x6 pt ..sinks every nail, maybe jammed 1 time .....I love it I use Flexvolt batteries on it.....the metal connector gun is amazing also aka (hanger gun) ..,,..........most of time if people are not sinking nails it's set wrong or wrong nails...
  2. Do you notice Rigid tools and batteries are heavier then Dewalt or Milwaukee ?
  3. Ya ..Jimbo..I'm with ya on some of Ryobi tools....I had to jump into Ryobi for a cordless orbital sander and trim router ,one else had both at the time. Still Dewalt doesn't have em...being a Dewalt guy it's frustrating...but I do love Flexvolt....No power on my jobs ,so it's a generator or all cordless...I choose all cordless......I seriously contemplating jumping into rigid as a backup....if they keep ipumping out .."other" tools....
  4. Thanks,I've been wondering I figured it was a "in shop" thing....sounds like if you want high end shop tools ,Festool is among the best.....sounds like a "snap on" comparison....high end but is it worth it ? ...interesting
  5. I hear Festool is quality....is it for cabinet makers ? Finish shop owners ? I never see a Festool product in the building trades ....I saw some Festool products finally at a lumber yard recently....I don't see the quality over Milwaukee or Dewalt...or the storage containers, they look like they will break if I drop them...unlike a tough system case or Milwaukee case..........the plastic looks cheap...none or little overmold......gotta be a "in shop" use thing and stack the boxes...German motors and parts would be good...
  6. If rigid (aeg) rebranded or not continue pumping out useful tools ...they will get people to buy in...myself included .....unless Ryobi is going to be pumping out the same tools soon....I'm in that platform.....heard of 6 and 9 ah Ryobi batteries but don't know when,,. I see the 2pack of 4ah at HD for 69$ that's a good deal
  7. Don't get the portable tracking you add to other tools,ladders..etc....is a thief so dumb he doesn't just rip the little device off ? Bluetooth has a range...free gps service maybe work...provided by the company...service fee NO....usually the thief is in the trades and knows what he wants to steal, not some random guy.....or the guy you just fired after 2months and knows all the tools you have and where the tags are.....if it's like LoJack great, with no fee........we have insurance for theft ..
  8. I don't think the R and D department at Dewalt or most companies have ever built a house or plumbed it,wired it,put down flooring worked in cellars or done anything practical.....most likely college grads with no real world experience.......shame cuz me ,you and a million other guys would love to show them ....what we need...how to roll it out,,,what we want next....guarantee they would make a lot more money...
  9. I see it's purpose..I don't like it...Dewalt has serious lighting issues, that R and D guy needs to be fired ,,,I'll give lighting props to Milwaukee,,rigid is not bad...I still use the Ryobi flood light...I have limited batteries in all other lines but Dewalt...so I have hope ,,slim hope ....I agree with you guys ...storage ? crawl space ? Expensive to replace if stolen.....geez Dewalt cmon man...
  10. Thanks,,,I get the whole tti thing it's very interesting what rigid is doing (tti) that cordless compressor will work great installing windows on new homes...no dragging a long hose around, the house or reroute it..,a 20ft hose and that compressor in a man lift a boom ,window install with a roofing gun is now so easy.....and that heater should be amazing when framing a house..no nasty kerosene smell...
  11. I'm a Dewalt guy...some Ryobi,(my main second level tools) Milwaukee,Bosch, and one rigid corded trim router........I'm about to give in and make rigid my new second battery platform.....damn that's cool tools.....I want that heater, compressor,router,sander..( my Ryobi router, sander are getting old) No Dewalt hope in sight....so I'm almost ready to make rigid my second platform.....really cool, useful tools......props to rigid.....if 1 more cool rigid tool comes out ....I'm in
  12. I bought it....ah just because it looked cool..and I walked by it about 90 times at HD and said ,I should get that.......never use it much....but it looks cool...more POWA
  13. Replace the "c" bearing plate ...adjust the gear drive 2clicks to the left...rotate the driver 3degrees to load point....you must torque to appropriate specs,it's imperative to remember the sequence..............just kidding ,I'm just a framer...good luck though, welcome !
  14. I don't get it....when we are screwing stainless Trim head screws into cedar exterior trim...a drill with a variable trigger or a 3speed impact works great.....when we screw off a deck with 3" cortex plug screws I want power and speed to get it done...again dcf887 and dcd791 work great ...Dcd791 is faster.......maybe some guys use those gadgets....we definitely don't have time for that stuff....you gotta get work done...done right...done fast.........I'll say the picture of the new Bluetooth drills look..."pretty" "cool" "sexy" ??!... . ..but they are going to be beat up quickly on the job...so cool looking goes away fast.......all that's left is the high price you just paid.................................I JUST WANT POWA.....and new tools...NOW !
  15. I hear ya....just wish companies would list what is coming out each year on their website....and what month it will be available so we can plan accordingly......then list what's coming for next year.....forget the guessing and big surprises...I think they would make. A lot more money that way...then companies could plan around that schedule.....instead of jumping ship and buying into another brand for a tool they need now and don't know if their brand will be making it..........ya know
  16. Ya Ryobi, which I like ,. But no big brands @Bremon...don't you want different tools also ?
  17. Unless these drills/impacts/hammer drills are so incredibly superior to the existing line ..I won't buy in...I love the 887 and 791 ( the 791 is damn amazing,so smooth and powerful,,I have 5) I think they are the best on the market...and the bigger 996 is good for hammering.....unless they make a "Makita like ,,sub compact" but more powerful then the 887 and 791 ...I'm all set...I really would never use " tool connect or red link " I do not want to spend time configuring a tool.... . ..I don't get it,,forget this stuff, just give me NEW TOOLS....DIFFERENT TOOLS...not a remake of existing ...I want so many new tools they don't make yet...make a damn full line of tools already ..and add to the Flexvolt line,...a 60v adapter,,,a compact light 10" mitre saw ,,a 10" table saw..more powerful batteries but Lighter.....More POWA......even rigid has a cordless belt sander, router, orbital sander, fan, even a cordless 1 gal compressor ....Cmon Dewalt
