  1. Ya...a lot of 1/4" and 3/8" for tapcons...but usually use a hammer drill for those..is the sds max 293 a better tool for those sizes also ?
  2. Thank you, question; is the added weight bigger motor and wider holes it can drill worth the extra loot for the flex ? I'm usually drilling 5/8 to 1" holes in foundations,,am I going to burn up the new 20v max 293 because it's near its limits ,or can it handle it ? I'd rather go 20v max 293 for weight and size...
  3. Great deals I've seen on the 273 ,,,I think I love the newer 293 sds plus but holding off to compare the new Flexvolt sds max...haven't heard any reviews on either but the 273 reviews are all 5 star...good choice !
  4. Can say I have any Festool, just recently saw them in a local lumberyard.....I hear good things, are their tools for outside framing ?
  5. I'm with you on that....funny cuz it's the reverse for Dewalt,Ryobi they were avg and now make great tools....of course Dewalt is king
  6. I still have my old PC all metal sawzall...it's a beast ,I'd put it up against any sawzall on the market and my old router and joiner still work great..20years old... .....I remember in the trades if you owned porter cable you owned the best... ......Now it's Milwaukee,DEWALT,Bosch in the trades maybe Makita...
  7. Man,Dewalt..just make a lot of stuff...I'll buy it along with a multitude of others...what do I want to see.....Everything 60 or 120 v....just start making stuff already....damn ...Milwaukee even has chairs..
  8. Here is a part of the email...
  9. Got the 20%'off at acme....I buy there a lot...they send me emails daily for deals. The last one was said click here for your discount of 10-25% off..I got the 20% one....if I knew how to screen shot I'd show ya...but alas I'm just a builder... ....REALLY goes for any place. Buy a lot of tools at any particular place online and you will get deals not available to the public and new tools sooner.......... ......Some guys on here literally get tools and accessories for pennies, they're very patient and talented ...I do envy them
  10. Acme has deals ...I ordered 2 packs of dcb609-2 at 20% off , so 240$ for a pack of two is a great buy, even better with an additional 20$ off ...
  11. As colonial Klink would say...."interesting very interesting "
  12. Lith ion ? I use 4ah lith ion...have since they came out...you can get 2packs for 50/60$ after the holidays....mine still work great ,no problems...at least 2years
  13. My friend has it ,,we used it last weekend..temp 15 with winds 30/40mph...we built a deck outside ,10hr..(2 batteries) we kept warm all day and even used it on low most of the day, high is hott.....worth every cent
  14. I use the dw7440rs..,it's a small rolling stand,it works great...cutting on the ground can be dangerous...
  15. My point is to run tests as each company has designed the tool to be used.......which is with their own "total system" ...tool,blade,battery....whatever tool it is. ...I'm sure Dewalt didn't spend 100million or whatever number it is ,just to say "drink our koolaid you dumb consumers..just buy everything we sell." ...They truly want to be the best tool company and to be number one in every category,to expand their base and dominate the tool industry... . .....Same people who said Flexvolt is just a gimmick. ,now see that when comparing Flexvolt with a 3/9ah to Any other brand.and Any other tool,. FLEXVOLT is The Best ..PERIOD. ..the reason is simple....Total Tool System........ . Now, More Tools...More POWA!
  16. No B man...not just thin kerf....look at the tooth design, air vents, totally different design not just thinner....also there are vids on the Flexvolt saw with different blades with very different results ..PLUS.. MY real world experience.....using different blades on it.....besides I Love Koolaid.....lol
  17. B man....that's the thing, flex is a system not just a tool...don't know if Milwaukee makes a blade special for their 7 1/4 or if Makita does......Dewalt develops an entire system for each tool.....sawzall blades, circ blades, grinding disc,sandpaper,etc....any test done without using all of the accessories designed for a particular tool is just a bogus test......I know Milwaukee makes good sawzall blades...don't know about other brand accessories . ..........MORE POWA MORE TOOLS ALREADY!!!
  18. Never heard of that feature.......I know the pendulum locks when you shut it off
  19. You can't compare tools unless you use a brands tool and whatever accessories are made for that tool to do the job intended.......example...the Flexvolt circ saw is best used with a 9/3 ah and a Flexvolt blade...compare that to any other set up you want....it's the best......( ya maybe makita new rear but that's a different kind of saw ) .,,still hate those worm drives or similar...........companies work hard to develop a line of accessories to use with their tools............can't just throw a diablo blade on every circ saw and a 6ah and say now it's fair...it's not.....
  20. Customers can be difficult,,but I understand.....we always did the same thing ..smaller houses quick jobs to have work...what we realized is that lower and middle class incomes change from year to year,so the economy slowed down the housing market....but....wealthy people always have money, and very wealthy people have money to burn....so that housing market is always there ..the economy doesn't effect large to very large custom homes..... . ..I live on the cape..surrounded by water..everyone with money, wants a home on the water ,and want it bigger and better then their neighbors....it's a beautiful thing....I don't live on the water,. But I drink water ..lol
  21. Ya jron..it was a brutal pace for years.....now the avg house is 4-6 weeks and large customs 5-6 months....we have merged with another company so I run about 20 guys (depending on who shows up that day) ...Im glad you have a good job with plenty of work.....it's a tough business and wears on the old body........
