  1. What about going with a monitor type heater Conductor? The fuel is expensive but the heater is really efficient. I was actually going to go that way but my brothers pellet stove steered me in that direction.
  2. Yup Red. Startup is a breeze no doubt. So far heating the this old Cape has been going well. I have to figure something out for my basement though (gym and workshop - unfinished). Getting a little bit nipply down there! As far as gas goes DR99, we do have a gas line going through but the cost of the new furnace was going to hurt. Oil just plain sucks. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  3. Happy Thanksgiving guys and gals!
  4. Ain't that the truth though! Eric, I love that drill. Absolutely awesome. 2-1/4" hole saw through my siding and structure....NO problem. Just used it again this am same charge, still with three bars in the 4.0 battery! I'm not sure if I'll use my hitachi till summer when I start building my fence and garden structures! What a fantastic drill!
  5. Hey Eric, I got the same American Stove my brother has. Install was slick as snot. I bought three tons of pellets and have had it running non stop since Monday at about 1030 am. I've used almost three bags of pellets, fifty forty pound bags per pallet. But....I've never used a wood stove before so I can't really comment. I figure God willing, it has to be cheaper than my thirty year old oil burner though! Clean up is a breeze though. I just put some corner fans in to circulate the hot air and have been running those all morning. I was going to go wood but I figure the savings in fuel is made in physical labor and time not to mention bugs in the basement where I would store the wood so I think it should pay off. Its fifty out right now although it snowed yesterday. The rest of the week is supposed to be pretty cool so I should hopefully be able to figure out a reasonably accurate cost to operate,
  6. C'mon Travis....clearly that is an EASY job! I finished this, did the stove instal, painted trimmed and took my dog for a walk. Then off to Sam Adams! I missed my true calling, I should've been a contractor! Nice and dry and warm, TV in the background...hahahahahahahahahaha
  7. Couldn't agree with you more 07. My Powerbox kicks some serious A$&!! I had the M18 radio till last December and got rid of it. The reception sucked, sound was tinny, no power outlets etc...and I'm a Milwaukee guy!
  8. As a weekend warrior and NOT a contractor, I find myself scratching my head and laughing my tail off. You have to wonder if some of it is scripted but it looks like they leave handi-cams all over the place. Regardless, I'd tell DIY to kiss my lily white New England A$& if they wanted to watch me work. Like the song says "what a long strange trip". I'd rather just have them show up when it's done and not see my AFLAC reimbursement check
  9. Awesome job Harold! You have to do some muddling classes for us poor schmucks who can't quite get it.
  10. So after a pretty rough year I finally completed my first project of the year. Introducing my pellet stove and my hearth pad. My girlfriend Samantha and I, started a reno in our living room. I worked all summer on overtime and saved cash for the pellet stove. Not wanting to spend $389 on a 3x3 corner pad, I reviewed some pictures of them on line and set out to make my own. Wow, awesome - super easy project. I have never tiled before and it was much easier than I thought it would be. The stove, with help from my brother, could not have gone in easier. I used my brand new 2403-22 M12 Drill and my M18 saw and Recip. The hearth pad took me about seven hours all told to build and tile using 12" tiles, 3/4" Plywood, 1/2" Cement Board and 1x trim. I should make these and sell them for $200 and make some cash. The stove went in in less than 2 hours. Now...on to the kitchen! I will review the M12 next. If you can afford one, get it.
  11. According to the designer, the 909 drill has a variable speed trigger with a two speed transmission. His article states that his driver has what is called "Intuitive Touch Variable Speed Control". Obviously this is for the 909 which presumably is the drill driver minute the 4ah batteries. Regardless, I just got my 2403-22 Milwaukee 12v with 4ah battery. Woo-Hoo baby!
  12. Quite an article on the 909 on Toolguyd I read a few says ago. The link to the sales site kept going to a site where the owner manufactures is trying to get support / funding for the tool. Looks like a really good tool platform with an interesting transmission.
  13. And keeping in mind an American made product, using American parts being sold here on US soil keeps even more Americans employed not to mention the manufacturing of materials in construction of said item keeps even more Americans employed. Keeping in mind of course most products we use and own are imported from other areas it still is, at least to me, very important to see more manufacturing occurring here in the US especially since so little is made here in the realm of power tools.
  14. I'd like to agree with that sentiment and I believe quality should be the overriding platform for any purchase. I am not going to buy a junk tool made here when I can a better quality one made somewhere else. But...when I am looking at a product made in America, keeping Americans employed I am going to be hard pressed to look elsewhere. I am especially not going to purchase tools made by countries that are not exactly friendly with my home. I am a diehard Milwaukee guy and Eric J is right you have to look at the total product, where does it come from, who made it etc... I have a one hundred % made (quite old) Craftsman circular saw my Dad gave me. Now it certainly has personal value but I will keep that tool (which does not have the power of most saws now a day), running as long as I can until I need to purchase another one. When I make my new purchase it will ultimately come down to quality price AND WHERE IT COMES FROM!
  15. Yeah, the site says there is a mark on the box and the side of the tool has a badge indicating its an American Made Product. Come on Milwaukee!! Expand your USA Made Products!!!!
  16. Hopefully they will see an increase in loyalty and new buyers and this will prompt them to start turning over more tools and lines. I'm like Conductor and a big Milwaukee guy but I'm an American first so...as much as I can't stand yellow maybe it'll be worth going to them?
  17. Yeah it's true but your right on about it. I actually got mine on a special I saw on Toolguyd, it was listed on Rockwell for something like $70 last year. If they do it again I'm buying a second one! Real heavy duty too. Of course it's real heavy too! I used it most recently on a door but have many projects lined up for the winter and spring
  18. Hey guys and gals, just looked on Toolguyd and he posted Amazon is selling the PC 20v Drill or Impactor for $99 each. Each one comes with the power tool, charger, case and TWO batteries. PC is expanding its 20v line and for the DiY'er or even the pro looking for a good quality power tool without too many frills, you should check out Dan and Eric's reviews and give 'me a shot! I verified the deal is still going on at 4pm so.....POWER! TOOLS! POWER TOOLS!!!! Ar ar ar ar arrrrrr
  19. It's about darn time!!!! I read an article too and went on the site. I'm not a Dewalt guy but just because of that I might become one! C'mon Milwaukee!!!! USA USA USA!!!! My router is USA made but none of my other M tools are
  20. ChrisK

    TIA App

Also include some wiring configurations for meat sticks like me that are trying our hands in that area!
  21. Thanks Conductor!!!! I couldn't be happier right now to be back!
  22. Amen to that oh mighty brother of power tools!!!
  23. Check out that PC 20v Impact gun! AWESOME tool. Problem is the charger is rated for something like three hours!!!! Still PC really does have a great 20v impactor and drill so great price for a high quality tool. Not many bells and whistles to the impact or drill but decent power and battery lift and the drill sports a nice all metal chuck too. I am curious if the vac they have is the same one that they normally have for a 100 or if it is a dumbed down version like the one HD sells on the holidays.
