  1. Picked this up for a few euros at a bargain bin, most likely old Christmas stock. Iv been using Irwin bits for a few months now and while there not the best it does the job for now.
  2. Spot on. Thats why I think Makita are staying around the 170+NM mark when it comes to impact drivers and just improving the driver for what it is, anything over 200nm you might as well get an impact wrench. What I would love to see is more R&D put into making oil/pulse/surge impacts more powerful while remaining easy on the ears.
  3. I wonder is there a reason Makita didnt up the torque on their new drivers, while other companies are up around the 200+ NM Makita stayed around the 170-180 range.
  4. Looks interesting but is adding more electronic tech a good thing.?
  5. I wonder what Metabo will bring to the table this year.
  6. Favorite tool of 2017 would have to be the Knipex plier wrench, I used it alot and it just works.
  7. In Ireland we have a very well respected company called Stanley Stoves there always saying stuff like 100% Irish, Irish made and all that but the truth is that they are made in some Asian country and assembled in Ireland so my guess is just because there assembled in Ireland that's enough to be called Irish made. Another thing that gets on my nerve is when people not all of course bash the Asian workers for making crap. Blame the companies that's outsourcing and not the man or woman working a shitty job making little to no money. I'm sure we all know people or have read online who for some reason hate the Chinese crap etc
  8. I dont get brand loyalty either I will use any brand of tool so long as it works and gets the job done. Now I work with OPE everyday as its my main job (chainsaws/pole saws ets) Im currently using Stihl products but I would not for a second hesitate to use Husqvarna or even Echo however I would stay clear of the Chinese made chainsaws the knock offs so to speak. People really do get very touchy when it comes to brands me personality I dont care what a person uses as long as his happy, but what I always try and do is buy quality with my money.
  9. Completely agree Metabo are slow to upgrade their impact drivers for some reason.
  10. Im not a framer but I use a Dalluge 21oz a great great hammer.
  11. 2018 tool purchases will be as follows Husqvarna 572xp cant wait to get my hands on that puppy. Dewalt Flexvolt circular saw. Bosch GST 160 CE Dewalt DCG414 XR FLEXVOLT
  12. The thing for me is the snap action of the brushless drills chuck can sometime loosen and the bit falls out. Because it start/stops so fast it unlocks the chuck.
  13. I know I hark on about it but a impact driver like the makita oil impulse/surge would be nice
  14. How about one of these. I use this more than my utility.
  15. Are you looking to repair the batteries. Repairing Makita batteries with star rating is very hard to do. AVE has a video on them
  16. Bosch has some nice cordless OMTs on the market with the new Starlock system that Fein also uses.
  17. Isnt the Festool Vecturo made by Fein?
  18. That looks interesting, wonder what the run time on the battery is like.
  19. An age old question. All brands have their pros and weakness. For me personally I have tools from various brands because some brands have tools I want while others dont. What also plays a roll on a brand is cost, promotions, sales, pricing, warranty, customer service etc. What I prefer depends on what im doing. Drilling concrete etc - Bosch Impact Driver - Dewalt Drill - Dewalt Cir saw - Makita Router - makita Chainsaws - Stihl & Huskies. Etc By been open to all brands I get to pick and choose what I like best.
  20. I really tempted to pick up a tote and the organizer that goes under it, looks perfect for a quick grab and go setup for small jobs.
  21. At €534 would it not be better to go for the grunt of the flexvolt?
