  1. My daughter had a snow day today so I took advantage of it. Painted the door and lockset on the bathroom door and installed the baseboards. I'm going to need to install some shoe molding to hide some of the height differences and crowning on the floor. After seeing this, I'm glad we decided to abandon the plank tile. In the homestretch now.
  2. Thanks everyone. It's slowly getting there. Been trying to do as much as I can on the weekends but the winter is my busy season. So it seems to be dragging itself out lately.
  3. Today was flooring day. We decided to go with TrafficMaster's Allure Plus 5"x36" vinyl plank flooring. Installation couldn't have been easier, All you need is a utility knife, tin snips and a speed square to install it. We did the entire floor in about 2 hours. Love the look and it was a good compromise from the tile flooring that we were originally looking at. We like it so much, that we've decided to continue the flooring into the kitchen. Now it's just down to installing the base boards, thresholds and some final paint work.
  4. I was just up there about 3 weeks ago to go riding. Stay vigilant!
  5. Sun Room has taken a back seat for the past 3 weeks. I'm in the middle of snowmobiling season and I spent a couple weekends in New Hampshire. Back to reality and a change of plans regarding the flooring. Originally we were going to install plank tile in the room, But, I have too much bounce in the floor and I'm very concerned due to the lack of rigidity we'll end up with cracked tile due to the length of the tiles (6" x 36"). There's no access to the floor underneath to add support to the joists. We started looking at alternate flooring and I believe we came up with a pretty good compromise that's going to end up with the same finished product. We're going with a vinyl version of plank with the same finish and style of the ceramic that we were originally looking at. Material was ordered today, so with any luck I may end up putting the floor down next weekend. http://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Allure-Plus-5-in-x-36-in-Northern-Hickory-Grey-Resilient-Vinyl-Plank-Flooring-22-5-sq-ft-case-100113/203927597
  6. I was in HD today in Wilbraham MA and it was on display right as you walked in for $99. Marked as the deal of the day.
  7. LOL - Nope a mechanical engineer. You should see the heating plant in his house, You need to have a degree from NASA in order to operate it.
  8. Looks great. I love the sink and industrial faucet.
  9. Still $169 in the Northeast. I'll keep an eye out for a price drop.
  10. That reminds me of my older's brother solution from having his mailbox destroyed every year from the discharge of the snow plows that went up his street. He had his shop weld up a mailbox post using 4x4x1/2" square tubing and then a mail box was constructed of 3/8" steel plate, The post was then set in about 5' of concrete. I think the entire setup weighed in about 200 pounds.
  11. That read like a drunken rambling at 1:50AM in a desperate plea to pickup the last girl in the bar.
  12. Yes. I do the same thing with mine. It's not bad for what is.
  13. Congrats on creating the channel. I created mine as a hobby when working out in the garage. Mostly snowmobile stuff and some tool items. I enjoy it. https://m.youtube.com/results?q=streeters%20garage&sm=3 Just subscribed.
  14. If it was me. I would replace it with an on demand water heater. It was the best thing I ever did.
  15. Dealing with my boss who works in Florida while I'm in the northeast who has no idea of what I actually do in day. But yet finds ways to critique me in time management.
  16. That's what my Ho's are for. Lol
  17. Good deal. Thanks for posting.
  18. When i was still in the trade I was either doing aircraft or medical grade work. The most stressful was the aircraft since the tolerances were so tight and there was zero room for error. More often than not we would be working on small lots of 1-3 pieces with a part that was already allocated for setup and usually that part was so screwed up you couldn't use it for verification purposes. I then moved into the medical sector where we specialized in artificial knees, hip replacements along with spinal implants. That was the most rewarding since you knew that the parts you were making would ultimately help someone get healthy.
  19. Cool video but a little misleading. As someone who worked in the machining industry for 15 years. The trade is lot more than just loading material in the fixture hitting the button and getting a useable part once the cycle is completed, Depending on the industry you're working on. The tolerances that you're being held too could be as tight as +/- .0005. (That's the diameter of a human hair being split into 4 sections). You're constantly changing tooling, adjusting offsets and cutter comps all the while your shop manager is telling you not to screw up since that job could make/break payroll that week. I remember working on a part for a turbine assembly that was made of iconel and before it even came to me it had $50k of machining work done on it. So the bald eagle is cool, but since really it's just a decoration and no real tolerances are being held to it,
