  1. I've actually found something NOT cheaper at HD like i'm used to: .. HD: $189 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-18-Volt-LXT-Lithium-Ion-4-0Ah-Battery-2-Pack-BL1840B-2/206605904?MERCH=REC-_-rv_nav_plp_rr-_-NA-_-206605904-_-N "New Lower Price" At ToolBarn: $149 https://www.toolbarn.com/makita-bl1840b-2.html/
  2. Approximately August is the answer I got
  3. Different kind of tool, but compared to thinking I always had to wear boots, these put a smile on my face every day Safety toes, kevlar soles, slip and oil resistance, so comfy and light ,,
  4. That's right, and that really sucks... hate that See how you like the hook on the end of that tape, for me, it needs to be taller and not so wide. That was everyone's complaint on the first round the Milwaukee tapes.. Mine pulls out with some force required, and i get the double coil spring design to make it more compact, just takes some getting used to. Plus the compact size is noticeable. My vinyl coating on the blade is fraying along the edges of the tape already and that "foil" badge peeled off pretty easy when i bumped the side of the tape and it made it pop off some. I think that was unnecessary and could have brought the price down. I like having measurements on both sides of the tape, and miss them on this one. The belt clip is awesome, the tape lock is pure genius, i like it, but find myself gravitating back to second gen Milwaukee with the magnet hook...
  5. LOL that reminds me: //
  6. Highly doubt anything will change, just like other acquisitions we've seen... maybe they'll incorporate their yearly price hike though, that would be cruel
  7. Yeah, it gives you happy feet! RIght!!?
  8. Nice, the app is most useful with the inventory for myself. I use the tool control once or twice to get my most common applications dialed in....Then I got the surge and i don't use this impact LOL.. But it's cool because it also tracks and it's in my tool box so the whole box will be tracked... The tool lock is sweet too, and you don't even need to have the tool in bluetooth mode to lock out the impact. The most useful one key tool is my sawzall, when i'm going through metal, i want it slower to make the blade last longer and the auto brake is genius...
  9. Absolutely, this is really cool. I didn't know you worked at a shop, i just thought you took older tools and cleaned them up as a hobby to keep them running
  10. You could have changed out the receptacle then put a 240 double breaker in the panel, relocate the neutral wire from the neutral bar to the breaker so you would have two hots to the receptacle... At least that's what I would do if I desperately wanted a/c quick
  11. I could help with Plumbing if there was any of that involved here lol!! But the rest of it would just be me playing by ear so hopefully you have your resources to make this work. The lighting makes all the difference for sure
  12. Nicely done, good to hear you're keeping yourself busy, we need good electricians! Thanks for checking in and showing your baby! They are so easy to deal with when they're asleep lol
  13. I'm a snob with my Rolgear haha but now i feel like getting a couple ratcheting drivers mentioned here to compare
  14. SDS drill always puts a smile on my face, thinking of the endless drilling i used to do with just a hammerdrill gah Oh wait, you asked about today.... I was mowing the lawn just now and caught one of our folding lawn chairs in the mower blades and shredded it up...i may have meant to do that because it was broken anyways hahaha that made me laugh.
  15. Here's a tool that will put a smile on your face ..
  16. Yeah so that's cool Link: http://www.acmetools.com/blog/milwaukee-m12-trapsnake-on-the-job-review/ . .
  17. Well good thing I don't pay attention to deals around here, SAID NO ONE EVER!! *click*
  18. Ha yeah I've turned it on some very tight screws and couldn't break it but it dropped square on the cement and it's toast! I was a little mad at the guy that dropped it when he was carrying things off the roof, but we have a tool purchase policy at work and they will replace it for me .
  19. Awesome, I'm partial to my Rolgear but I have been thinking about getting a Wera ratcheting one... I love how silent and smooth the Rolgear are: honestly nothing comes close for ratcheting screwdrivers ..
  20. That would be cool, but it's not setup like that, but I wonder if I gave you my login info if you just add your tools into the big inventory for example. I think it would work better at a company for one person to input all the tools and assign them to whoever vs trusting the workers to input that info for themselves. Keeps the confusion down
  21. For the record, as much as I enjoy my plethora of Milwaukee tools, that just means I'm that much more in tune with what I dislike about them. Mostly I feel they are a marketing company making tools vs being a tool company first and then marketing their products. It's not a cult following, guys, I assure you that...
  22. I had a Bosch app some time ago, then when i switched phones i forgot about it and will have to check this out. The one app i use a lot is Milwaukee's app, I know, it's a totally different type of app than what you're talking about, but while we're on the subject of apps..... Now, before you roll your eyes, i'm not simply jumping on the bandwagon for the bluetooth capabilities... i've been using this app for over a year, (before it was cool haha) to inventory my tools. I'm talking any brand, any items, hand tools, etc. I put all my tools in this app, DeWalt, Makita, Chicago Electric, Ryobi, and Milwaukee. You can put a toothbrush in the inventory if you want lol Pictures of the tool, pics of the receipt, serial number etc, anything you want. Plus what's cool, is you can log on to milwaukee's website to access it through a PC, it's cloud based, too... Anyways, i just realized how useful it is and how few people realize you can do that. Ok, carry...i mean- Measure ON hahah

Nice, although I don't think it's the least bit sad i'm excited about power tools... my wife on the other hand....
  24. Whaoh cool, i'm just catching up on your project here, and my hat off to you! Hardly any home owner i've met cares to take care of things under their house, all they see is the stuff going on above the floor. Very important what you did and it sounds like you've got the right resources with your buddy. We have laundry service at work for our supplied pants and shirts, but i just wish we had some pants with kneepad pockets for this very purpose, would be super nice. Keep it up, sounds like a crazy cool profession!
  25. Nice! They say that's a very nice impact, the upfront cost is a little steep when comparing to pneumatic guns, but keep that wrench for many years to come and hopefully your wife will appreciate the research you put into this purchase. You never know, someday you'll need it for a roadside emergency, then your wife will see the benefit. Happy to help, i'm just fueling your tool desire hahaha
