  1. A 20/40/60 could work if you had 30 cells but realistically that is not an option currently because the battery would be massive. I imagine a battery the equivalent of 2 flexvolts in size on an impact driver.
  2. if it has a 5/8 arbor and has a compatible blade diameter then it should work on the flex.
  3. Husky gloves. Was something like 3 pair medium duty gloves for $10-$15. Also got 2 small impact socket sets from Makita for impact drivers in both metric and imperial. They were around $14 per set.
  4. That is a nice design. Maybe you can screw from the bottom into the vertical piece without seeing any screws. It would add a bit more strength but I would not trust the joint for much load due to the top being cantilevered. I would agree with the others that larger more beefy brackets would be a good idea.
  5. @Mordekyle the Flexvolt has a 5/8 arbor
  6. well maybe. Depends on if negotiations work out or not.
  7. I have been itching to get more Festool but I can't decide on what deal to snag. The recon prices can be good but you gotta wait for something you want/need and the Festoolproducts.com deals are good for the TSC55 but I am not sure if I want the non Airstream batteries/chargers. The best deals I have seen on Festool are happening right now. I was holding out to see if the deal got any better but I checked just now and the deal has gotten better for the TSC55. I might snag that deal and the 10% off a vac once I save enough money. It was 2 free 5.2 batteries and $50 off but now it is 2 free 5.2 batteries and $100 dollars off.
  8. same deal for the TSC55 but it is now $100 off
  9. The 20v max 7-1/4 in miter is brushed but the Flexvolt 12 in fixed and 12 in slider are brushless.
  10. I asked Festool USA about if there was going to be a connect for 2018 and they said, "We will be announcing plans for Festool Connect 2018 very soon." Sounds promising that there will be a connect this year. Still no confirmation on if any new products will be there but I sure hope there will be. I would expect Tanos, SawStop, and Shaper Tools to be there in addition to Festool bringing their latest and greatest. Realistically I would expect to see a an ego pack for the sanders get a Bluetooth option, maybe some more accessory options for SawStop table saws, and maybe some software tweaks to the Shaper Origin. I would also expect some more cordless but I don't know what we could expect.
  11. Is the serial number elsewhere on the saw? Maybe on the top? Looks like there is more information near the top of the saw.
  12. I am curious what you guys use or plan on using for track saw blades? I currently still use the stock blade for my Flexvolt. Has anyone used the new Milwaukee blades with the anti-friction coating?
  13. unless it is that one thread that we don't talk about right?
  14. Doesn't this only work in situations where you have the same amount of cells and same size of cell just different capacity per cell? example: m18 10 18650 cell 4.0 vs m18 10 18650 cell 5.0. Same engine different tank? m18 10 18650 cell 5.0 vs m18 15 21700 cell 12.0. Different engine different tank? m18 10 18650 cell 6.0 vs m18 10 21700 cell 6.0. Different engine same tank?
  15. Looks like not just Festool is having price increases. DeWALT is going to have them too. Got an email from Acme tool saying this was going to happen. Not sure when they take effect. Also there is a new bare tool deal options include some newer brushless stuff. buy 2 get 10% off. Buy 3 get 20% off.
  16. Since the max is there doesn't it make the 20v max stuff somewhat an okay name scheme?
  17. I would go cordless if possible. You just gotta throw in a battery and you don't have to worry about the power cord and/or extension cords.
  18. Probably that metal chop saw I seen awhile back.
  19. I haven't had any of those issues with my DCD996. I would rather buy a new one just so I can get a new warranty on it.
  20. Worlds first how so? Is it a totally new kind of saw that has never been in cordless or corded before? a saw that hasn't ever been cordless before? Other?
  21. Speaking of subcompact circular saw found this on Toolnut https://www.toolnut.com/makita-xsh04zb-18v-lxt-sub-compact-brushless-cordless-6-1-2-in-circular-saw-tool-only.html?___SID=U
  22. I never said it was framing but I was just curious if you used it or not since some roofs can be pretty slick if they are steep enough. Especially when installing roofing paper and shingles. We use brackets for our roofs too. They are nice.
  23. Do you at least use fall protection?
  24. You should show it off. I'm sure it will look great.
