  1. Occidental leather ...green pouches...only ......they will last 15 yrs...get the best once...fk all other brands if your framing
  2. I have the ego non push with the 5ah ,,it will mow your lawn no problem...I gave it to my brother and I got the self propelled this year with a 7.5.....it will mow a half acre no problem......watch "kite army" on you tube he does run test......Ego is the Best OPE in my opinion.....I have the old blower gave to my brother and the new at 575 cfm at 142 mph.....also the snow blower....they all work incredibly well...no problems, fast charger, ,easy clean and store.....great company and Home Depot is great for returns or any problems..... if your lawn is flat , you don't need self propelled...they are light....TIA did a video also..
  3. Production work I hear ya...my early days we did that ..all custom for decades now..more loot..
  4. Dewalt has a 20v max XR ..12" chainsaw coming..that would work well for that....there are videos on YT comparing the hackzall and compact sawzall...TIA I believe did a video on that
  5. Badass....considering the rigid (I have) needs 2 / 5ah to achieve 1200 nails and the Dewalt uses 1 / flex battery 2ah/6ah to achieve 1220 nails ...
  6. Gotta be full head nails...no " clip head " nails..
  7. I'm on cape cod.....toughest codes I've heard of.... vertical sheathing only.....inspectors literally measure between nails to pass the house,,..1 spot on 1 wall exceeding the space required could fail inspection,,,holding up further work....we use hold downs(hdu16) on every floor ,floor to floor with vertical rods connecting them.....foundation to roof must be connected by metal not just nails....
  8. On exterior trim...16 g is fine for 1 3/4" bed mold or cornice, cove etc..but 15 g should be used for larger crown mold or larger molding...it has a larger diameter shank and larger head to hold better....interior trim same theory..door casing with 15g then,,window trim, base, 16g...decorative trim smaller molding with 18g or 23g pin ...
  9. Ya I bought into rigid for the cordless trim router ,sander, then got that small compressor which works fine for small trim jobs and hanger nails....of course Dewalt comes out with one now ! ........
  10. Can't use 3" nails for framing in MA..min 3 1/4 by .131 but 3 1/2" by .131 preferred..and sheathing (ply) min .131 by 2 1/4" full head .....paslode 2 3/8" are .113 and smaller heads...inspectors know what you used by head size....also sheets are nailed ..6" on center in the field and 3" on seams...plus two rows of 3" staggered on the bottom and top of sheets....so loading a paslode gun that many times would kill productivity even if they shot a .131 / 2 3/8" nail.....gotta use coil guns.....I like bostich guns...and they are heavy as shit....
  11. I have it ,,,I love it ,ya it vibrates...I wouldn't demo a house with it,( Milwaukee super sawzall is nice) but for everything else , it's a good sawzall...it is better then the older compact one I have..
  12. Thanks....the rigid is 77db ...that's ok,,,not bad if true,,,
  13. We only use the cordless trim guns to set the trim and nail off with a coil gun,,,then nail molding with it......if I did finish work for a living I'd probably get a cordless compressor (Dewalt) then never worry about needing power and use much smaller trim guns, brad guns, ...and bring it room to room....
  14. I am glad Milwaukee guys have some nice boxes,,..and some nice design elements.(a half box,and locking bags) They may be sturdy, rugged ..we will see in time if they hold up or break tabs or last....I only said I didn't think they were game changers. ...if I was a Milwaukee guy ,I'm sure I'd buy into it.....I do like my tough boxes and tstak ...and they are proven to last and take a beating..... ....I love all companies expanding and growing cuz we have choices, it's awesome!!!!' Makita is slamming it lately too...
  15. No kidding all cordless ? We couldn't frame walls fast enough with those paslodes or Dewalt cordless...gotta have max air for many guns running....plus what do you nail sheathing with ? @framer Because mass code is .131 coil nails..and there are no cordless coolers......I do love the paslode, but the Dewalts are as good or better and definitely cheaper to use......
  16. On the rigid ,2 / 5ah will last me all day ..(1200 nails per specs) ...the new Flex specs say (1220 nails ) on 1/ Flex 2ah/6ah ....so that should be all day, definitely on 1 ..3ah/9ah flex battery .. and with a 2.5 gal tank , you should be able to fire many more nails vs the rigid ,,before the compressor comes back on........I just hope it runs quiet like the compact Dewalt 200psi trim compressor I have, it's almost silent..
  17. I bought the rigid one ...and two 4 ah and charger.....but I do like it.....AND I will retire it and buy the Dewalt version.....killing me Dewalt....in a good way
  18. Really it's the same weight as an air gun....forget the specs...put a hose on a framing gun and it's the same....it holds 1.5 racks of paslode nails vs 2 plus racks on an air gun......that kinda sucks and paper nails do get wet vs wire nails.....but the gun is bad ass dependable, no lie. ......I'm in business to make money, lots..if there was anything better, faster, more dependable...I'd buy it...I love Dewalt but I love making money more...tools make me money..money let's me help family, friends, neighbors god...
  19. I hear ya @Grumpy MSG it is a beautiful straight cut, just never used one ,ever, till recently....actually it's @ChrisKand others that convinced me to get the boss to get a track saw...he got Festool.....it's still just very different for me to use ...very strange feel in my hand vers my reg circ saw ( flex or corded) .......been using a circ saw everyday for over 30 yrs ,,...im like the guy carving a bear out of a log with a chainsaw....but with a circ saw...just feels natural, like an extension of my arm... .....but I am trying to use it everyday,to get better at it......
  20. I have 2 dcn 692 for my deck company and 2 dcn 693 .....I use a half box (2000 per box) of 3 1/4" hot dip galv paslode .131 paper nails (1000) every weekend and 1 full box of paslode 2 3/8" hot dip galv (2000) every weekend ..... That's 52000 @ 3 1/4" And. 104000 @ 2 3/8" ......so that's 156000 nails PER YEAR roughly since the day they came out and never serviced any of my guns,,,I do oil the tips and spring (coil return) ...also remember that is nailing into pressure treated wood 2x8,2x10,2x12,4x4,4x6,6x6........a couple jambs over the years ,but almost none... ........the hanger gun works great also dcn693 , a bit heavy but dependable..... ......I would not get rid of your paslode guns, @framer they are great guns, but you can depend on Dewalts guns..
  21. I can't wait. Wish I had a ticket. Wish I knew who gives the tickets out, cause there are many people who shouldn't be there and others who should be
  22. Interesting dialogue and mill talk. Completely different world then mine ,even when I was doing interior finish work...but I do respect an ol school craftsman. Nice job Sir..
