Does anyone know if it's normal when charging a Makita battery with the battery fuel gauge for the charger to show low battery level during the entire charging time?

Thanks

I don't know if it's normal, but I had the same thing going on when I charged my 2.0 and 3.0 batteries with the fuel gauge yesterday. The red indicator was on for almost the entire charging time and the gauge was at 4 when I checked them near the end of the normal charging times. I know the 2.0 was almost entirely dead when it went on, the 3.0 was at 3 bars. I was also using the DC18RC charger

Well I know it's a little late but I can say I had an amazing Christmas! The wife definitely spoiled me and of course I got some things for myself ? Waiting on the 18v/12v rapid charge station and I got a free 12v fuel hackzall from work with a promotion they had going on at our local Milwaukee dealer! Gonna get all my tools together for a little Milwaukee tool porn picture here pretty soon!

Thanks Josh, I was hoping another member was doing the same as me.

The last thing I want to do is buy another charger...

Its normal, the red light just means the battery is less than 80% charged.

Thanks, the strange this is that when the battery had 4 LED's showing the red light remained on the whole time, when it should be showing greater than 80% or fully charged.

Edit: while recharging the batteries this morning the charger does actually show the red & green led's when greater than 80% and the solid green when fully charged.

i guess I didn't leave the batteries on long enough to show this status after the battery fuel gauge read full charge

Do these count as tools?

Once again I was sucked into buying more than I need right now because of the price per unit savings of a bigger package.  I only intended to buy four or five loose pencils at 25 cents each, but this box of 20 was $3.48 less my 10% discount, so a little under 16 cents per pencil.  I probably won't need to buy any more pencils for the rest of my life.

Finally took the dewalt chop saw i bought out of the box.  Dws780 i believe.  Pretty neat system.  Have always liked the dewalt chop saws so decided a nice sliding saw would be nice addition. And why not the one with largest cut stretch. Went thru some aluminum extrusions no problem with included 60t blade. The light shadow feature is pretty cool as well!

Couple of my orders came in. From Deluth Trading I picked up a fire log carrier (awesome) and a face mask for snow blowing duty. And I scored (2) Makita 6AH 18V batteries from EBay for $185.00 for both. Thought that was a good price.

If you wear that face mask to the bank, you won't have to worry about what batteries cost any more. :)

Just ordered  me some @truewerk pants I'm super stoked  to  try them out

Those look very nice....I may have to order a pair.  I have about 8 pairs of these, once you start wearing "stretchy" synthetic pants you will never wear jeans again. http://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/mens/pants/renegade-pant/

How durable is the material in those pants @SetBuilder can they handle constant sparks from different hot work? My jeans do but other work pants i have will burn if you aren't paying attention to slag etc.

I do not think they would handle the "Sparks" from welding very well. You would probably wind up with hundreds of tiny holes in them over time. I think any synthetic fabric will melt.  I used to do a lot of over head welding and my synthetic shirts were riddled with tiny holes.

speaking of welding burns, I never tied my safety boot up for that very reason, ever get one hot molting metal stuck between the top of your foot and the tight laces you can get them untied fast enough.....easier to flip your boot off.....

Never weld or torch with open top rubber boots. Ever. Never. Ever. So many burns. Also are FR earplugs a real thing? If you've never realized you should have had them in three seconds ago you are lucky.
