The Fisch hex shank bits are not sold in the states. Disappointing but that seems to be how things go sometimes. We get products Europe doesn't get and Europe does the same. At least we can still buy the round shank bradpoint bits. I also saw what looked like to be an extended hex shank. I wasn't listed as centrotec but it looked just like Centrotec. I wonder if they are compatible. There is actually a pretty nice (round shank) 29 piece Imperial and 25 piece Metric brad point Fisch kit available here. I might pick one up if I think I need more sizes. It is only $178.99 for the 54 bits which is actually pretty decent deal considering how nice Fisch bits are. It does 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch in 1/64 inch increments and does 1mm to 13mm in .5 mm increments.

Actually I got the Fisch hex shank brad point drill bit size 9mm from Amazon US, some of their sizes are only sold in US. The Fisch, Star-M and W L Fuller brad point drill bits are the best European, Japanese and American brad point drill bits that are made of HSS, not HCS and they remain sharper for longer time. WL Fuller does not make them with hex shank though. Star-M does make them in a lot of different sizes, but all are the same length. There is a German guy obsessed with German, Swiss, Austrian and Japanese tool accessories and he sells online as well and can post everywhere, his prices are much cheaper than half price from the other online sellers, if you want I can send you his contact details. He can find whatever you want, his advertisement in his unfinalized website is "Don't search, find!" loool

This extended hex shank is called Japanese 6.35 Hex shank I think and they are 4-5mm longer than Western 1/4" E6.3 hex shank. I grind them to make them shorter to become like Western hex shank. Or it might be the 5.5mm hex shank like the one with Wera bit holder in the photo.  The other photo is the Star-M hex shank brad point drill bits made of HSS.

Now that you brought it up I do remember seeing one listing on Amazon for a hex shank Bradpoint Fisch bit. I saw no kits though.

Ask this guy whatever you want and he will find it for you for very good prices, he is on German eBay as well. I will see if I can find some links from eBay. After Brexit it has been so difficult to find German sellers on eBay, If you need a special drill bit or screwdriver bit or any other tool accessory he will tell you which brands make them and he will tell you the COO of all!

You need to make a list of the things you want, brand name, product number, size and profile and quantity and he will prepare a quotation for you. He has good contacts with a lot of brands and he gets them for good prices, that is why his prices are very low. He does not sells junks so you better contact him if you are looking for quality branded tool accessories only.

There is a British website called www.workshopheaven.com and  they sell Japanese made Star-M drill bits and recently they started to appear in UK amazon, you might be able to see them from Amazon US as amazon does their deliveries.

Also Trend Snappy is a British brand which Fisch makes the hex shank brad point drill bits for them as a set of 5 (3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm) you might be able to find it in amazon. Their price is much lower than the Fisch itself. ENT is another brand Fisch makes these drill bits for them.

Instead of posting threads every time we buy something awesome for ourselves why not have it here?

So to start off I got tired of my average ryobi jig saw and picked up a Bosch js572ebl from HD. With purchases over 125 you get 25 off. For 250 I got the saw kit with the L-boxx 2. Can't wait to outfit to work!

Love the idea of sharing our latest gear! I just treated myself to a heavy-duty Hitachi nail gun for roofing and some Malco snips for precise cuts. A bit pricey, but they're total game-changers for my roofing jobs.

Excited to see how that Bosch jigsaw works for you. Happy working with the new tools!

Cheers! Roofing Company in Arlington VA

I bought the "hyper tough" extended reach 12v elec ratchet at walmart, $59.

Can't afford the milwaukee at x4 the cost.

I already have the regular length milwaukee FUEL version and its a gem.

A big drawback with the walmart tool is it takes 5 hours to charge.

Its slow and not as strong, but I think it will be usefull for oil changes and hard to reach areas.

No charge station, just a wall wort that connects the battery.

I charged it on the concrete floor in the garage, can't trust cheap lithiums.

33 ft lb torque (sure i believe you )

200 rpm.

The latest for me.  Missing one ratcheting wrench out of a metric set of seven.  I'll let you all guess which size...🤔

17103675686224537754386120859069.jpg

12mm, one before 13mm. The metric sets starts with 6mm, and goes up to 13mm but missing 11mm sometimes depending on the brand. I think mostly Japanese brands make the 11mm as it is used in JIS.

I ordered an Equipment Defender trimmer rack with capacity for holding 3 string trimmers or similar tools. I also ordered the Ego commercial straight shaft edger. I am hoping the new edger has more power. The one I have now struggles in heavy duty edging tasks.

Ordered some Pica gear from Toolnut. I got the fine pencil starter kit. It came with the pencil, a pack of regular lead refills, and some erasers. I also picked up the regular size pencil. It was my first one after the slight redesign. I also picked up a pack of the heat resistant lead so I could have some white lead for writing in on darker surfaces. It also came with some red and some graphite colors as well. I wish I would have researched a bit more. Looks like an all white pack is available. I don’t really need the red or the heat resistant graphite. I tested the white and it is very visible on the darker wood I tested it on. It felt a bit soft but I may need to do a bit more testing.

I ordered a pair of Keen shoes. It was time for a new pair. My others I had to duct tape while I waited for the new pair to arrive. I went with the Kansas City. They were 50% off and had the features I wanted. They came with KonnectFit, ReGEN, carbon fiber toe, and BELLOWS FLEX (I have never used BELLOWS FLEX before)

Let me know how you like them.  I used to wear Keen but haven't bought them in a while.  They use to be great but I also know sometimes companies change style and material so just curious because I am looking for a new pair of shoes/boots.

For me the Kansas City is slightly off on the size. I went with a size 11 like I have with other Keen shoes but I should have maybe gone with 10.5 wide if it was available. Keen tend to run a bit wider than some other brands. The Kansas City seemed a bit narrow. The length is a bit long. The laces are about half an inch shorter than the Keen Vista Energy I had before. They are comfortable but the heel feels a bit loose. The Vista Energy I had lasted about 2 months longer than any other work shoe I have had from Keen. Laces and soles tend to be the main failure points for me. The laces on the Vista Energy's were still good when I retired them, but the sole near the toe area was separating. Pretty good to get an extra 2 months considering I am averaging one pair of shoes per one season of mowing. In about a year if I remember I will update on how the shoes are holding up.

I ordered a measuring wheel from Keson. It is model MP401E. I am looking to up my estimating game for lawn mowing and thought a measuring wheel would look more professional and help figure out lawn sizes. Previously I had just been guestimating. Sometimes I have dabbled in the Google maps measuring tool but I don't know how accurate it is.

I also ordered a 2 pack of 25' Crescent Lufkin Shockforce Nite Eye G2 in 2 pack on sale for 15% off at Acme Tools. The single pack of the same tape did not qualify for the 15% off. The gen 1 Nite Eye tape has been my favorite tape ever because of how easy to read the markings are(except for the foot marks). This will be my first gen 2 Nite Eye. The gen ones had an issue at the foot marks that were confusing users and that is fixed with the gen 2. I guess we will see in person if they actually are or not.

I just checked and the promo is still going on for the tape measures. There are also other tape models that qualify for the promo. You just have to type LUFKIN15 to get the 15% off. Apparently there are autolock and magnetic options for the Nite Eye tapes now. Here is a link to what is available for the promo. https://www.acmetools.com/all/?pmid=24a475_crescent_15off

I ordered a Pica big ink kit that comes with a black big ink, red big ink, and a mini systainer. In the same order, I am getting the assorted colored caps for the regular pica dry pencil.

I also ordered some work sock from Darn Tough. Those arrived today. The warranty is shockingly good. Here is what their warranty page says, “Unconditionally Guaranteed for Life

If these aren’t the longest lasting socks you’ve ever owned, you can return them to us for another pair. No receipt needed, just the pair in question.”

A lifetime warranty that includes wear and tear is unheard of anymore.

That's crazy about the sock.  They all seem to get holes in them.  I might have to check them out and get a pair.

They are $25 a pair. You can buy single pack or 5 pack. Sounds like a lot but you are paying for that warranty.

Pica is a good brand when it comes to pens and marking thingies.

When I hear the word "longest lasting" automatically "Nano technology" comes to my mind and then I am off! looool

I made a rare trip to Tractor Supply and found that they have some of the DeWalt socket and accessory sets on clearance.  I picked this one up for $30-something: DeWALT 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. Drive Impact Accessory Set, 10 pc. at Tractor Supply Co.

nice find. I don't go to TS very often. One time I was at my nearest store and a cat was just lounging on the shelf which was kinda funny. At first I saw the cat and thought did someone leave their stuff animal in the tool section. It was a real cat.
