  1. Yeah, I was able to add some real useable space and an area dedicated to the lathe. I also have a foldaway rollaway Dewalt cart that’ll be here Thursday so I can get my planer off that huge pile of lumber and sawhorses which will free up an enormous amount of floor space. I have to finish the legs for the bench, they are all laminated but I’ll need to plane them down to size then fit in the tool well and skirt and attach the legs and put in the quick release vise I got. I also have a sliding vice for the end but I think I will end up making a Roubo at some point and use that one for that. It’s a real blessing being able to get going again on these projects!
  2. Exactly what my wreck looks right now, don’t feel bad bro it’ll get better, I started in the shop again yesterday.
  3. Hahahahahaha I love moderating. My favorite saying...? You can’t fix stupid!
  4. Welcome to the forums dude. What model saw do do you have? I would presume it’s a contractor type saw and those are not a common type for fences so aftermarket might be hard to find.
  5. Well for one reason or another shop time and projects have been on the back burner. Today I got to do some yard work and put together my AWESOME Daddy’s present, a two person hammock. Then played some BF4 to losen up and then decided to go down to the cavern of destruction and add nearly four more feet to my wood shop. Thank God for the foresight to make my walls semi permanent. Hit the wall with my framer, knocked it lose. Slid it back four feet and flamma bamma schmama and I’ve got nearly four more feet of useable space. Used my Dewalt 692, yes...it is awesome. Nice new lathe nook and a I put up a quick and easy shelf for large tools chucks etc...
  6. I’ve got one tstak. I like it a lot, it’s the drawer one. I have it set up for wiring, probably my most used Dewalt box, I have several tough system boxes which I love. Truthfully I have a ton of Systainers and five tough system boxes including the large cart one. I really like the ToughSystem boxes and just don’t need any more storage boxes which leads me to the fact that I’ve only one tstak. If I was not so heavily invested in the Festool tools system, which naturally I am, I would consider getting tstaks without hesitation.
  7. Marc seemed to use that wood exclusively. Beautiful piece bro!
  8. Looks good bro, so the bolts are too small or just changing the placement? As far as levelling from inside? I think is a great idea, if the drawer runners aren’t in the way I that’d be great. You know as well as I once your get that stand in place trying to reach out back from underneath will be a headache waiting to happen.
  9. No no, I paid for the plans and they came in last week? Haven’t pooped through them yet but they were having a sale so I said why not? I have not seen the video workshop for the cabinet, is that on the site?
  10. This is an older photo of my current set up. The only reason I attached it is because it’s on the wodest wall I still have available. I commonly have up to 10’+ hanging on the left side of my saw on the support. I too am going to be building an entire miter saw, storage location with room for my mortiser. The thing is I need a lot of room for longer pieces and have worked hard to keep that wall behind my saw clear... Also, being of similar mind, I went to architectural and mechanical drafting school back when autocad was being introduced....yeah....87-89. Your drawing skills are 🤟 I run all Apple and cannot use Sketchup and don’t know what Fusion is. Cannot wait to see the finished product dude and I just received my plans for the tool cabinet from Finewoodworking. I did not realize they were free (digital) to members of the library. Dohhh!
  11. Do not forget your insurance bro. You might be able to claim it on your auto policy.
  12. Wow. That’s awesome. First post, link, no permissions......hmmmm...... That’d be.....buh bye. Sorry for the missing link guys, new member spamming us.

  14. Milwaukee Surge, 2.0 amp battery, a Large Dewalt ToughSystem box, an Easy Wood Large detailing tool for my lathe, a 12x20 piece of granite for my sharpening station and a pizza cutter kit to turn. I’ll throw some pics on later 🤪 Also all of the new1/2” Router bits from Peachtree came in but I haven’t even opened the box yet. My Wife bought me a two person hammock for Daddy Day. She’s awesome. My Son got me an awesome “Dadman” t shirt and a neat book to read him. He loved it.

    Time Off?

Dude. Ain’t that the truth? I just came in from the pool, played a game and am now grilling. I want to ply some more. That game is addictive.
  17. So....being new at this....I definitely have a strong appreciation for my Dad. Happy Fathers Day guys. The job is tough but better than any job I have ever worked and the rewards are endless. Enjoy your families and God Bless...You deserve it!
  18. Like it a lot plus great table support. What are you using to hold the feather boards in, are there a few slots in place?

    Time Off?

Hang out with my Wife and Son, work in the shop, yard work, hike, play bf4, work on the house, ATV. I’m kind of a homebody but I love time with my family. We are starting to take my Son out a lot so we are going all over the place. Today will be a shop day for the morning though.
  20. Beats me dude, I don’t bother registering tools unless they say Festool on them. Most of them use the date stamp. Exception is Ridgid. Never buy from anyone but Home Depot, ALWAYS register.
  21. Same with Dewalt. I purchased a flexvolt tool and battery for eBay. The tool worked great but the battery failed. Dewalt graciously took in the battery and gave me a new one because it was date stamped and that is how they determine how old the battery or tool is
  22. What I am saying is if you buy off any retailer, a larger brand tool, those tools are date stamped. For instance if you purchase a Milwaukee tool and it is not working for some reason, Milwaukee will generally take the tool in for repair or replacement because they go off of the serial number. Dewalt is much the same. If it is a recon tool it comes with a different warranty and the tool serial number is listed as a recon.
  23. Normally the larger companies go date stamped on batteries and tools by sn which lets them know how long warranty is for. Recon is different.
  24. Yeah, Canada does not seem to have the same caliber of deal we have. I figure 3-1/2 hours each way....if I take the Mustang, 25mpg...plus sales tax. No thanks. I’d take the Tundra but 14.7....yeesh!!! I’m buying a chainsaw next month and I have not determined the Dewalt or the new Milwaukee. Both come with high cap batteries so regardless I’ll be all set with LI batteries 👍
