  1. If you are using them for work boots, than as others have said i dont think these are the best replacement... stick with Red wing or Chippewa.. for winter boots, it doesn't get much more iconic than these. if they are work boots, you might want to look into Keen or even other mid height hiking boots (as long as you don't need steel toe, if you do then just stick with keen) i find hiking boots much more comfortable to work in than work boots. I do mostly interior finish work so I almost always wear these boots from salomon they hold up thelongest of any boot i have ever owned, are super comfortable, breath well and are light weight http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/86679?feat=salomon%20boot-SR0&page=men-s-salomon-x-ultra-mid-2-gore-tex-hiking-boots&attrValue_0=Bettle%20Green/Black&productId=1455740
  2. I could watch How its Made all day! haha I love seeing the behind the scenes of stuff so interesting how it all works now a days the speed and automation blows my mind
  3. excellent tool shed man! you really made great use of the space there
  4. phew!! i remember the pictures of when you were doing the demo of the old building!!!! what a transformation nice work man!
  5. Really nice looking work Del best indication of a quality addition is the fact that it doesn't look like an addition! nice job with the details man
  6. Leatherman surge and fastback are always in my work pants!
  7. Box Cutter holy smokes! what you miss when your away for a little while this thread is crazy long! figured there is no better time than now to jump in. hopefully I'm playing by the rules or haven't duplicated something already posted (i definitely didn't read through all 48 pages!!)
  8. Congrats on the winnings comp! hope this streak keeps up for you and your wife best of luck to you both!!
  9. I mostly do finish work so i don't like the bags hanging off my hips in customers houses.. leads to too many scratches and dents in door ways and on walls.. this vest style from occidental keeps everything tight to my body so there is less chance of me damaging the customers house or work i just finished. the leather straps on each side unclip and i can slide on regular bags on each side for when im doing exterior or framing work.. makes for a really nice system. it also keeps the weight of the bags off your hips and distributes it through your shoulders. 10. I too am eagerly awaiting his tear downs of these tools! its gonna be a fun watch
  11. I struggled with this thought for a long time.. years actually and never ended up doing it. I bought into the Makita LXT lineup 6 or 7 years ago and at the time they were IMO the best you could by then like 2012/2013 they really ended up getting pretty long in the tooth and Milwaukee was crushing it.. I ended up sticking with Makita and just pushing through the low and boy am i glad i did because as you all know they are back big time.. the only last tool i have Milwaukee lust for is the Fuel recip saw.. as soon as Makita releases their long overdue BL recip I will be 100% happy happy I just have way to many tools and batteries to make it worth while probably like 30 tools and 15 batteries... I also never likes the idea of having two battery platforms either... in a shop environment its not really a big deal but on a job site its just too much to keep track of.
  12. for some reason recently i have really been wanting a Plasma cutter.... not sure why as i usually work with wood but they are just so darn cool! i do have a few welders and mess with metal from time to time so maybe one day!
  13. That looks like a great place to get away and just enjoy life!
  14. Toronto, your gonna love that hammer man! I got mine at a trade show back in march and absolutely love it... i was swinging a 28oz stanley antivibe before i got it and boy what a difference. it just feels so much nicer in the hand, great balance and i dont miss the extra weight of the 28oz steel at all!!! this thing drives nails like a beast.. at first you might be a little easy on it thinking it might be more fragile (thats how i was when i got into titanium) but you will quickly see that this is one rugged hammer and you can do with it whatever you used to do with your estwing. i use mine for demo, whacking away chunks of concrete, beating studs and beams into place etc... great hammer!
  15. This Impact wrench is badass! I dont even have a huge need for one but it will definitely be added to the hoard! now.... as for the long awaited, much needed BL recip saw that this thread has started talking about..... COME ON MAKITA!!! I do appreciate and respect that they are obviously taking their time to make it right the first time around instead of releasing a half ass attempt but its time already... i have been lusting for a better Makita cordless recip saw for years now. a lot of times, at least durring demo, it is the only corded tool that comes out of the trailer which makes it such a hassle. I have their current 18v but its just junk.. do you happen to know anything about it? specs? are you saying that they are coming out with both an 18v and a 18vX2?
  16. its amazing to see how far tools have come. Cool stuff Chris
  17. I am with you on this one man! If they put it in a SYS1 or 2 it would be perfect! just add it to the stack of tools and your off
  18. Hey Guys!! Sorry I've been away for so long.. Mostly my time away started with just being super busy with work. on top of that, as many of you know, i got a motorcycle earlier this year and spent a lot of my free time on that.. Add in the summer time responsibilities of having a house and wife and well there goes every last second of time. I should be able to manage my time a little better now and make it on here more often. That is thanks in part to the asshole who decided it isn't important to actually pay attention while driving and decided to turn left through my lane while i was out for a Sunday ride a few weeks ago.. I did everything i could but the crash was unavoidable.. cops and insurance place all the blame on him which is a good thing but i'm still the one left with a totaled bike, aches throughout my whole body, several messed up joints and a pretty good size gouge in the side of my knee.. Its all very frustrating to me but i can still be very thankful that it was only me on the bike so no one else was hurt, and the fact that i wasn't hurt much worse than i am or even killed. Enough of that depressing news... lets get back to talking about tools!!! It feels good to be back
  19. Nice Kruton! Your gonna love the makita stuff!! You might as well sell the corded Bosch and possibly even the ryobi because your never going to use them again!
  20. The fiskers x27 is seriously the best splitting axe I've ever used. The thing just works really really well. Check it out on youtube or reviews on amazon..
  21. I posted this in another topic about the XT257M kit but i thought i would make it its own post so more people might see it.. amazon has a great deal on the XT252M.. the 252 kit has a much better impact driver (more torque, more rpm, 3 speed) than the 257 kit, thats the only difference.. 252 is the much better kit imo works out to be $337.49 with shipping and everything. definetly the best deal i have seen on a new kit. http://www.amazon.com/Makita-XT252M-Lithium-Brushless-Cordless/dp/B00M46NBTA/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A411WFYU4YLUH

  23. Haha. It happens to the best of us man Dan, when I met my wife I was in the best shape of my life.. 19 at the time. Few hours a day in the gym.. about 195 lbs 6-pack abs, the whole 9 yards.. now... 10 years later I'm tipping the scales around 260 and the only 6 pack I've seen in a damn long time is sitting in my fridge! Haha Its all good brotha!
  24. Thanks for the link! Am I missing something obvious here?! What the heck is LAMU?
