  1. I don't know where you had found them but bishoptools (guy who posted above) has them on ebay for 104.95. Reason they are less then everyone else... because they are the bomb! I buy a fair amount from these guys, great prices, always have the newest tools first, great service and fast shipping.. it's a no brainer to me. I honestly don't have any affiliation with them, just a happy customer promoting a good business.
  2. I noticed the same thing on my truck a little while back. My research led me to replace them with moog problem solver sway bar links. Been holding up great
  3. Even in yellow.. I've gotta admit, pretty damn badass!!
  4. Happy birthday! Great looking tool box and sounds like an awesome meal too!!
  5. Like Bmill and nalu. I too hope this isn't a whole bunch of hype for some pointless crap. Hopefully they really have something useful up their sleeve!! I'm excited to see
  6. Your gut is right.. seriously go with the goodyear wrangler duratrac.. I have them on my truck. Been on there for about a year and have been through the snow and ice with them on. They look great, they are not loud like other aggressive tires, handle excellent in the snow ice. I also tow around a 6000lb trailer fairly often and it's all good Best truck tires I have ever owned by far, I'm pretty sure they are the only tires I will put on my trucks ever
  7. You know it! How else are we supposed to teach our brothers overseas all our good words!
  8. You will never be without one again! I don't know if you quote jobs but they always impress homeowners at the initial meet and measure. I let them know it prevents me from having to slide a tape measure around their walls and floors and possibly scratching something and right off the bat they know I care about their home and my work.. Isn't it so true about never being satisfied.. it's such a bad thing... No with that being said, screw the glm100 and go straight for the stabila ld520 or the Leica d810!!! I love how they have the view finder camera with cross hairs so you don't have to be able to see the laser dot to know where your measuring.. sometimes outside that can be a pain. I think I would have a hard time ponying up that much cash for one though..
  9. I hear ya.. Is fugly a word they teach you in English class over there or did you just pick up on the meaning?? Haha http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Fugly That's a great site for deciphering slang
  10. If you want to start planning on future tool expansion then do the research and pick a new battery platform (I also agree that ryobi is probably a great buy for you). my advise would be don't get a new ryobi drill now. Use your money to get some cordless tools that you could use and don't already have... your B&D drill will do just fine for you now and when the drill or batteries eventually die that is when you should replace it with the new brand.
  11. Cool potato gun!! Have fun with it but remember to be smart and safe!
  12. It could be that some of the problems were a first run thing. I had one of the first saws. When it was first released and my local store got their shipment I picked it up that day. My bevel stop at zero was very squishy and the saw constantly came out of alignment. Also the rails weren't parallel to the blade causing the blade to pull away from the cut line during a slide cut. I was unaware of a lot of these issues when I first got it because it was still so much better than my old saw and I assumed the saw was good and my inexperience at the time was causing some of the errors I was seeing. A while later I realized it was the saw and not me but I was already stuck with the saw. Used it for a while constantly adjusting it and fighting with it then finally gave up and went kapex.. That 5 piece fence they have is the dumbest thing I have ever seen on a saw!!
  13. Man that 18 GA nailer is fugly! Let's hope they went with the function over form design idea and the thing works like no other!! The flood lights are a great idea. Don't expect them to be as bright as a 500w halogen though.. at 750 lumens they work out to be similar to a 60w bulb. Still pretty decent especially with two going. I can't help but wonder if the 12v is being marketed mostly towards homeowners.. the slide pack might mean they are catering to smaller hands and the fact that they didn't seem to make the tools very compact or roll out high end tech.. maybe they will come out with a second Gen soon that is more super compact pro oriented. Come on makita... let's hurry it up with the BL reciprocating saw!!!
  14. I'm not too bummed about that actually. The beauty of a cordless saw is portability and ease of setup. A 7 1/4 or 8" saw will do 95% of what most people need and it is just that much lighter to carry around all the time. I think I just got a bit more excited about it actually!
  15. Brushless tools certainly cannot be dismissed nor are they obsolete.. The longevity of a brushless tool most likely comes down to how good the electronics are that the manufacturer put in. I guess at this point we need to have faith in the tool companies that they are doing the right thing. Brush replacement isn't as big of a deal as some are making it out to be.. even heavy users aren't needing to replace them "frequently" I am a professional and have tools that have been used hard for years without the need for brushes.. if you were that worried about a brushed tool going down on a job you could easily pre plan and order a pack of brushes to keep in the truck.. then your back up and running. Also with brushes you usually get a bit of a warning that they areally start in to run crappy and quickly finND a pack of brushes . with brushless you aren't going to stock mew motors and electronics for every tool you own! Haha. My guess is that if you have a brushless tool failure on a job there is a slim chance your going to get the tool running again without ordering some parts or bringing it in for service. All that being said I have definitely jumped on the brushless wagon. I can appreciate that companies are building their most capable tools brushless now and I want a tool that is going to get the job done fastest and with the least user fatigue. The benifits are worth the risk of the tool being less serviceable to me. Long story short.. don't write off brushed just because they are brushed.. they can still be great capable tools that will serve pros and diy's alike very well.
  16. I have Makita 18v and Milwaukee 12v. Especially since makita has come out with their super small xdt09 impact I have found myself using my m12 drills/impacts less and less. The head/motor area of the tool is bigger than some of my 18v stuff now! Look into the lines and see what each brand offers for tools.. if Bosch has everything you might want then I would say go that way.. I'm sure the power will still be great and they are just sooo much smaller..
  17. nice bunch of tools! I know im weird but I seriously love that stick vac.. very handy
  18. I had all the same gripes with my ls1016. Didn't have too much of a complaint about the power though. Thought that was decent but it might be different between the 10 and 12" saws. I eventually ditched it and went with the kapex because I was just too sick of it never doing what it was supposed to do. Look at the ls1018. They seemed to have simplified it a bit ditching a lot of the features of the 1016 that didn't work well.
  19. Do it.. do it.. do it!!! Haha. Ill tell you lIke i told ricky.. if you do any sort of cabinet making, builtins, trim work, or other carpentry type work you will love the thing. It's a game changer tool.. hard pill to swallow at first but once you see how much easier and more precise it can make your work you will quickly forget about the price. Dust collection is 100% necessary with the domino though.. it's what keeps the mortise holes free of chips and the bit cutting smooth.
  20. Your one hell of a guy Comp. What an incredible tribute.. I hope time is healing your pain and whenever you look at this beautiful piece it reminds you only of what a great man I'm sure your father was.
  21. I bought the helmet without doing a ton of research on it.. saw it at the dealer, knew it was a good helmet.. liked the shape and graphics and it was the most comfortable one/best fit they had.. worked it into the deal on the bike. I still really like it just wonder what else I could have gotten.. who knows though. I know I got a good helmet and I'm happy with it. Feild of vision is great I didn't end up going for the boots.. thought about it but not now.. I will still consider them at some point.. that's a nice looking pair you have. They look very similar to my old motocross boots Did get a jacket and gloves though. Cortech.. it's what a local shop had by me. Comfortable, not too expensive and good air flow and a removable rain layer.
