  1. Yea its the same here in calgary can't use my cordless tools for a good 5 months.
  2. So today at work I was helping a customer who wanted to buy a sawstop but was on a budget of 3000$ so we made up a combination of options that is almost 600$ cheaper than the conventional saw and has almost the same specs, and used the extra money on some nice accessories. What he wanted was a 13/4 horsepower Professional series and a 36 inch T-glide fence but that was pushing his budget so far he wouldn't be able to buy an dado Cartage so we looked at other options and found that you can do some sick stuff. What most people get 2990$: Professional Series 13/4 horsepower saw 2784$36 inch T-glide Fence 242$Poor Mans Sawstop 2408$ (582$ cheaper): 13/4 Horsepower Contractor Saw 1937$36 inch T-glide Fence 242$Cast Iron Wings 229$The cast iron wings make the contractor saw the same as the professional series just smaller adjusting wheels, the factory stamped steel wings are what push most people to get the professional series. I will include a Picture of the build the guy got.
  3. I'm happy With the cordless one the 4 position blade clamp is really nice.
  4. I'm loving the look on that Impact I like the light location.
  5. Yes they are all Samsung but the chemistry is different.
  6. Hey Comp I cant manage to find the kit on there website do you know the link.
  7. Guys I think Chris needs a Festool Intervention.
  8. Well whats the point of haveing one and a half times the amps if the battery has half the life and stops being productive at +5 degrees Celsius instead of being able to go to -10 degrees Celsius. For me I look at the physical properties more I would take a Milwaukee M18 4 amp before taking a Makita 5 amp.
  9. Wait did anyone mention a M12 Rivet gun.
  10. Pretty sure my dad has the same one too and is still kicking.
  11. I have the tools in the Kit and have never been disappointed, and welcome to the forms.
  12. Can you make a video on how to make a 8 foot high one for your house?
  13. I would so win If I stacked all the tough boxes and systainers at my work, and maybe throw in the I boxes and makita ones just to make sure none of you put your collections together to trump me.
  14. Yea when I can afford it its on the list I guess after talking about them once a week with customers I convinced myself that I want one, then again another reason I want one is because I have absolutely zero experience using a table saw when I was doing woodworking in junior high the only person allowed to use the table saw was the teacher, now the rules changed because they have a nice 3 horse sawstop bought from were I work, but due to the fact I have no experience I view it as the most important safety measure. Then again when I do get one getting employ discount on them it is a nightmare I have heard only half a dozen people have got them on employ discount and there have been around 750 people who have worked for KMS.
  15. Wait didn't they have lithium ion batteries that are compatible with the 18V XRP line.
  16. Maybe its sister company could jump on that boat please.
  17. That would be mastercraft witch is owned by Canadian Tire witch only has stores here in Canada so me and Comp can just mosey on down to the nearest store you would have to ship it.
  18. I got to assemble the new Sawstop portable job site saw at work last week and the ting is nice, the fence system is really solid and it has the best storage solutions for the components out of any saw I have seen also the guard is so sick, but if you have 1500$ and are concerned about the very very low chance of your finger coming into the blade go for it.
  19. Sounds like the way sawstop runs there business model
  20. Now if only they had little towns made of paper for you to suck up.
  21. Higher capacity batteries with higher possible amperage draw rates do create higher speeds. Its because they used a motor that draws more amps than the battery can give it resulting in decreased power go try it plug in a sawsall to a 1.5 amp battery pull the trigger cut through a 2x4 then do the same with a 4 amp and there is a difference. When you use a motor that is to strong for the batteries the motor only gets what the batteries can give so it slows down a bit but if the batteries are replaced with ones that can give more or give power faster then the motor uses full capacity. Eventually the motor will reach peak power and not speed up anymore, even if the batteries are changed to better ones.
  22. How much does it cost to get at Canadian Tire.
  23. Well not all lithium ion batteries are different they use lithium for half but the other half is another element or combination of a few different elements each combination has different properties so if they sacrifice some aspects they could go right now and get 7 amp batteries and 3.5 amp thin pack batteries but are they going to preform well probably not. This is why it took some companies longer to go to five amps and why some are already announcing that there coming out with 6 amp within half a year (Bosch). But I would say in 5 years they could make a 7.5-9 amp at the same size the current one is if battery tech keeps advancing, then again that's with the highest amp cells available not the ones best suited for power tools so I would say we will see 6 amp starting at the late end of 2015 and that everyone will have 6 amp just after halfway through 2016, Milwaukee is going to be last thought because they are very selective on what cells they use and look at the physical benefits long before the amp rating this is why it took so long for them to get a 5 amp out.
  24. Ah fluffy snow is so nice I would take a foot of that compared to 4 inches of slush.
