  2. just got one from my local HD for $159, ordered on the website and they had a $20 off promo for makita tools, awesome deal, same price as the bare tool.
  3. my experience with makita has been very good, i own lots of makita tools, everything from air compressors, wood working tools, various power tools, and more recently cordless lxt tools. i always bought the best they made of everything knowing they will hold up to what i use them for, professional use. i always like that makita has been the same company, which has some confidence as a brand. as far as the lxt cordless stuff, ive personally never had any problems with the batteries or tools, ive owned some original made in japan lxt drills and batteries, over 8 years old, still work with granted battery life decrease. been using makita ever since the 9v stick battery nicad cordless drills.
  4. how do you like your magnepull, its been useful in some odd cable pulls recently, as small area that i didn't need to move furniture and was working alone, but i find it has issues with 5/8 or greater commercial drywall, which is more dense and harder that most drywall, and you have all kinds of issues with commercial locations, lots of flex conduit, metal electrical boxes, staples, it has its uses sometimes, but glow rods and good helper do wonders quickly.
  5. yeah think i got to grab it, just got the xph07m kit, and need more 4.0 batteries and i dont have a cordless grinder. so its win win
  6. does this kit come with 1 or 2 batteries?
  7. i do the same work but lots more as well so i have many bags, boxes made for various requirements. i use the Milwaukee backpack for my laptop and basic handtools. i have a separate box just for my basic testing equipment, then a separate box for termination supplies and equipment. then of course the boxes get bigger as the job does, but generally these three is what i carry most of the time, from most networking installs, equipment, then i also have a bag with just computer related equipment, so i think if your just dealing with cabling and networking, you will find most any of the tool backpacks will do fine, the Milwaukee bag works awesome for what i need it for and more, i recently did a antenna install for some cisco equipment, which is i needed to carry lots of various tools up on ladder and to the roof. through everything in the bag and worked away.
  8. any deals on XRJ02Z or batteries? im shopping for some
  9. Yeah the rigid ca25, it's a great little camera. I got it on sale when it was $80. Good basic inspection camera, haven't had any issues, only wish the LCD had better viewing angles.
  10. Really like this new bag, for techs like me, for 90% of tasks i do, the bag fits what i need, holds my laptop with plenty of other cables and most common hand tools i use, i use the rigid box for my testers and other electronic equipment, got the dewalt box for carry all my jacks and termination tools, while the bag is heavy while fully loaded, the straps do a good job of distributing the weight and feels like it should hold up well.
  11. if you miss this deal today, they got the milwaukee bag with screwdrivers or tape measure or nail puller, for $99, http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Jobsite-Backpack-with-Screwdriver-Set-8-Piece-48-22-8200-48-22-2008/205806684 was going to get the klien bag but the milwaukee bag has got the laptop slot, as a super technician, i require my tools and laptop, there were a few times i needed a good bag, i had to climb a roof to install an antenna, it was wet and dirty, wish i had this bag then. would have kept my electronics and tools clean. husky seems to have their own backpack now, although not much of tool bag. as there's no tools organizers. Model # 58597N1
  12. cool deal, right price for me, thanks, been wanting one of these for a while, now which one? there was also a deal yesterday for the milwaukee bag with the 8piece screwdriver set for $99
  13. thats cool, i stop by my local sears and didnt find the miter saw stand but did find a universal tool stand, for like $75 down from $99, may take a 2nd look at it.
  14. yeap as dead of tool store sears is, lately there have been stupid deals there, worth a visit, i always stop by to checkout the clearance area, never leave without something, i picked up some greenlee electrical tools for pennies on the dollar, avg around 1/3 the price of most other places.

  16. i have various shoes for different jobs, but they are all from keen. http://www.keenfootwear.com/utility
  17. depending on how large your concrete drilling needs are, the makita xph07z drill does a good job for quick anchoring needs, but when your needing to do more holes or larger holes, the xrh05z is just awesome, i went for the same kit with the free xrh05z, and have been drilling large 2-3" holes through mostly cinderblock and thin walled concrete, not a problem, and when the new dual battery charger comes out can be doing a lot drilling with almost no downtime, i also have the XWT02Z 1/2" impact wrench for fastening anchors and general large bolt fastening. i rarely need more than 200ftlbs of torque for what i do. if you havent noticed im partial to makita, for one simple reason, battery charge time and proven battery platform. but i have batteries that are over 7yrs old that still hold a charge and work. i think you do get the best value from makita with that free tool. happy makita user so far. btw, the xrh05z does come with a soft case.
  18. out of stock! come on!
  19. finally broke down and picked up this saw, the price was a no brainer and was able to score no tax, gonna be putting it to work tomorrow installing some Christmas gifts.
  20. i have both the dewalt flextorque and maxfit, think i prefer the maxfit, seems to fit the cheaper screws better. think i keep buying the dewalt stuff because they are always on sale. as much of a makita nut i am ive yet to try the makita bits.
  21. lol doesnt look very precise, but if it were "pro" quality with options for different saws, such as a multitool and small circular saw, that would be awesome.
  22. my new Makita XMT03Z Cordless Multi-Tool, finding new things to use this for, best so far is cutting open nuts.
  23. yeap, was great as i didnt already have a lxt light, as makita is kinda lame when it comes to the lights. nice light though, but i was happy with the deal, kinda fun picking all the left over holiday stuff, my local store was filled up on returns and open box stuff, was kinda hard not to pickup all kinds tools i didnt need.
  24. ive seen this updated model from makita, as i dont have a multi tool yet and i already invested in the lxt system and wanted the cordless one, only question i have is, what blades are compatible with this new model? i cant really determine what will fit for sure, the fein and bosch blades seem that they would fit.
  25. stopped by home depot and seen the many price drop of the sale items, picked a few more items. but had to get this, LXT 3ah battery and light. Normally, $99, on sale in store only for $69. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-18-Volt-LXT-Lithium-Ion-Battery-with-Bonus-12-LED-Flashlight-DML801X1/205382813
