  1. are hatefulmechanic and @KnarlyCarl the same person?
  2. except when Sparky compared the Milwaukee impact to the DeWALT impact. the Milwaukee won but on paper should lose.
  3. @rrmccabe I just dont see many computers in a shop thats all.
  4. I believe he has submitted patents for his stuff but I'm not sure if they have been accepted or not.
  5. @CATERPILLAR will like all your grinder wheels. @rrmccabe surprised to see a computer in your shop.
  6. Ford has moved to a capless fuel system at least in their newer vehicles.
  7. It can sometimes be hard to breathe with the disposable dust masks cause they don't have valves for letting air out. Can get light headed sometimes when using one. Especially in the heat.
  8. For my particular situation as being new to the trade buying flexvolt was a no brainer because I only had an entry level drill and impact with 2 1.5 bats. It wasn't like I had many 20v bats to use on 60v tools. I could see where your getting though. The veteran in the trades may have more 20v bats than a new guy.
  9. actually the official seal on the tools say "this tool is proudly made in the USA with global materials".
  10. wait a sec. you don't use the 996 because of flexvolt. wouldn't flexvolt make the 996 a bit more powerful? I guess I don't understand your reasoning for flexvolt being the reason you don't have it over the Milwaukee. I agree DeWALT has had bad gear selectors for awhile. I do like that it is 3 speed instead of 2 speed.
  11. I actually like the precision drive mode on my dcf887. I could see how you like the Makita better though. Thanks for the info.
  12. Good ideas @SetBuilder I was thinking I could have the table 4x4 then if I need it to be 4x8 I can add an extension. Maybe multiple extensions with various function if I need. Possibly one with a laminate top so I can use stain and glue on top without having much trouble with cleanup, another may be a down draft table. Possibly one could have a spot for a router. I'm planing in the way future when I have honed my skills and saved a couple thousand getting a dedicated table saw with router lift. Never really thought about making a spot for a router table. Great idea. What brand of casters would you go with?
  13. The idea of a dust mask is great but they are just uncomfortable. Is this one comfortable? Is there an exit valve for when we breath out co2 or is that not something I should worry about.
  14. Supposedly they go down to 1 micron particles. Those RZ masks do look cool though.
  15. anyone ever seen these before? Would they an acceptable alternative to a dust mask? https://www.amazon.com/First-Defense-Nasal-Screens-7-Sets/dp/B004KQF9QA Andrew Klein use them for in his shop. He talks about them in this video
  16. so all you do is spit and a pencil shoots out of the dentures?
  17. @KnarlyCarl whats all the extra dodads, like the knob thingy and and the gold thingy opposite of the knob thingy?
  18. from what I have seen on the new dewalt it does not have an auto lock. I did notice it had a finger stop like the milwaukee has. would be cool if it had the nylon blade like the Milwaukee.
  19. @JimboS1ice you selling your Chinese stuff then? ie. Milwaukee stuff.
  20. if say someone had 2 clamps on each side of the wood, could a tile saw be used without the risk of kickback?
  21. does it have a mode similar to precision drive mode on my dcf887. where the impact has low rpm and low ipm?
  22. I have no idea where the nearest harbor freight is for me. haha. might have to go out of state. I may use your idea as a plan b though. I'll probably attempt plan a and if that fails I'll try your idea. The cost is fairly reasonable. I was surprised to see heavy duty drawer slides on it. Not something you would typically see in a table of that price.
