  1. I'm fairly new to the construction trade so I'm sticking with one brand for now. I was given money specifically for a DeWALT set a year and a half back and I figured I would stick with DeWALT for now. As for red I have no True red. I only have some cheap tools from Menards that are red but not True red. Might get a Milwaukee tape measure when my current one needs replaced. They are very nice.
  2. is that what that is called?
  3. @Foneguy may I ask what FWIW is? Also I have never shopped at harbor freight before. Is the workbench quality? I may consider it as an option. Thank you for the idea.
  4. I have never seen an exhaust pipe shaped like that. looks cool.
  5. @KnarlyCarl hows the new van project coming?
  6. I may have the opportunity to use my garage as a shop and was thinking about rebuilding some things including a work table. This table cant be moved and is very worn. If I am allowed I may tear down the old table. I had a couple ideas on a "new and improved" work table and wanted to see what your guys thoughts were. I will be starting from scratch. In the new table I would like to include casters so the table can be mobile. I got the idea of having a table with french cleats on each edge of the top. I have never seen cleats used in a work table on the edges of the top. I have seen them below the top. I thought they could be very useful. I already have a few accessory ideas. One was a flat surface with a recess for keeping small pieces like screws, nails, etc. from falling off the table. I also thought about a similar version that was magnetized somehow. Another accessory idea I had was a table top extension with 2 fold out legs on one end with leg levelers. I would need to figure out how to make the cleats more sturdy. I dont know if they could hold the weight of an extension top plus the weight of tools and my furniture projects. Have any of you guys built anything similar for your shops?
  7. could try a grr-riper best solution I have seen for pushing material through a table saw. hands may be above the blade but as long as they are holding on to the Grr-riper they won't touch the blade as long as it is being used as intend.
  8. correct. guess it was a little too easy then
  9. anyone know what this is?
  10. @JMG is it used to fill pens with ink?

  17. Cleaned out my closet twice and now have a place for my tools Not really a useable shop but it stores all my power tools. Most of my hand tools stay in my vehicle. Here's my flexvolt miter saw and the bottom shelves. The whole basement of my house used to be that color of shiplap haha. Got my manuals and use up stuff(screws, tape, drywall filler etc.) not sure what they would be called on bottom shelf. Second to bottom is hand tools. third to bottom is clamps and my ds130 boxes. Here's the top 2 shelves. The top shelf has my tool bags and ds130 filled with tools. Second to top has another tool bag and some misc batteries and accessories for my tools. Here's my work kit. Stuff I take to work every day I work. Everything fits in the ds130. It houses some drywall screws (not shown), hearing protection (not shown), large torxs bit (maybe a t40, not shown), framing and finish pencils (not shown), my tape, mini pry, dual blade utility knife, right angle attachment, dcd996 with 2.0 bat, dcf887 with 2.0 bat, drill bit set, flextorq screw bit set, fast charger, and side handle (sometimes don't take it to work). Here's what is typically stored on my second to top shelf. in the bag houses the planer, planner wrench, and blade instal guide. Outside the bag is my dustbag from the 790 saw, dual charger from the 790, 2 flexvolt 6.0 bats from the saw, and the edge guide for the planer. The boxes from my ds130 are stored on the shelf below. Here is my flexvolt recip bag. got my recip, 3 flexvolt 6.0 bats, a basic lenox demo blade kit (and the dewalt blade that came with the saw, carrying case for the blades, and fast charger. Here's my last picture of what I store in my closet shop. My multitool. I keep the charger, the case, the 2 blades, various wrenches, guide, blade adapter for blades that don't work with dewalt's blade system, sanding pad which uses a velcro like system to attach sandpaper, and a selection of 60, 120, and 240 grits of sandpaper. The 2.0 battery I use with my work kit. I hope you guys enjoyed looking at my closet shop. Sounds strange to say closet shop haha. Its not all yellow, the battery caps are red haha.
  18. could be great for solid wood tops
  19. I overheard a guy at school talking about some guy made a plastic material stronger than steel. Don't know if its true of not.
  20. @Jaybird depends on how much your building. Not sure if you would wanna use it for framing material but you could sure give it a try. I would make sure before you start by checking to see what the code requirements for palette wood are. Would be interesting to see what you come up with.
  21. looks nice. Did you make it yourself?
  22. @rrich1 I like how it applies pressure 4 ways instead of 2 ways. Far as I know, the only thing of his coming to the market so far is his saw blade and will be sold by rockler if I remember correctly. I hope the clamps become a thing cause they look really useful.
