Kenneth Denmark
Okay GuysWho made the best cordless mitersaw.. Makita, Milwaukee or Dewalt.. What do you think? And why..
itchyspanner
id have to say the makita 36v (2x18) looks likely to be top of the tree for now, but a tool fight between them all is needed by one of the video channels.
Kenneth Denmark
Let's keep it fear with one 18 v battery
khariV
Right now, I'd say Dewalt. In a year... Who knowsSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
John Glassey
If your going to limited to one just 1-18v battery, then my vote goes to the 8 1/2" Metabo. John, Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk[emoji848]
kornomaniac
Short answer: The one of which you have batteries Longer answer:Correct me if there's something wrong in here. Didnt add the milwaukee because it doesnt exist in belgium. No point limiting it to ' One battery ' only. These saws are almost never gonna be bought by 'new' uers but only by those already invested in the platforms.
JimboS1ice
Right now the Dewalt is dominating but that could change real quick, metabos good but they don't have the name recognition, Makita looks awesome but the downfall is two packs are needed, which isn't really a downfall.JimboSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Turner85
Dewalt US model looks the business. Also like the look of the Makita.
regopit
I have the Dewalt and I really like it. I looked at the Makita but I don't have any Makita batteries and why would I want to lug around the extra weight. I get plenty of run time out of the one XR 4.0 battery.

regopit
Regopit, your liking the 4.0 with it? On a project is it lasting most of the day?For the most part I can go all day on one battery. It's not like you are making rip cuts and running for extended amounts of time I use it mostly for trim work but I have used it for other things. You see guys saying they can get x amount of cuts but that also depends on how long you hold the trigger before and after the cut.
comp56
I imagine there are variables, the trigger time, the wood, the temperature, the humidity, the elevation not sure it would be hours difference but something....
ChrisK
I would love to give it a shot but I in no way need or could really use this at this time, but I have to admit a strong affinity for Dewalt miters and this one looks A+. Love the table and positive miter locks on it,
JoshH8664
im invested in the Dewalt platform and will most likely go with it once I can afford to, but the extra bit of cut capacity that the metabo offers will force me to take a hard look at it. Both will cut wider than my broken handled 10" non sliding mitersaw that i have now.
Hugh Jass
I'm all about the Dewalt, I was I think the first member here to get it. Works great, but a battle is needed. The main advantage of the Makita is RPM, pushing nearly 2K more RPM than the Dewalt...but I have a feeling that to get to that speed, the motor actually provides less torque than the Dewalt, and the least bit of resistance brings the RPM down to Dewalt's level. I could be wrong, and that's why we need the battle.
kornomaniac
Hugh jass ! I have the Makita in my store. It upkeeps its speed without any problem. If you start pushing it in big hardwood pieces then it starts bogging down for half a second before the ' automatic speed change' tech kick in and the motor automatically shifs into a higher gear to upkeep the torque !It really is stronger/faster then corded compact mitre saws. More power and torque than a regular 18v can muster.
kornomaniac
It should be yes. 36v and brushless helps of course
chadlanthier
I don't own one, but my votes for dewalt of course. The numbers on the other saws r impressive though. I'm waiting for a 12" sliding cordless miter saw. And I'm thinking run time and number of cuts could be easily improved with a diablo blade.
