  1. Cool stuff. A grocery getter with an attitude!
  2. In agreement with John, buying my new home is the catalyst for getting a designated DC unit. I ran a Ridgid shop vac on my planer and table saw for years with poor results. My Festool MIDI HEPA is for the hand portable power tools and it does wonderful work but if you are doing anything with a table saw, planer, jointer (if you chose to run D.C. on one of these), bandsaw etc. they do not do the job efficiently. Not enough CFM.
  3. Hey Alan! Uploading working?
  4. The Supermax is rated at 78db Buddy!
  5. I finally went with a dedicated 1.5hp unit.... http://www.supermaxtools.com/products/dust-collection/1-12-hp-dust-collector/ alongside a Grizzly three speed air cleaner. I haven't finished the shop yet and the Supermax remains boxed but I've had the Grizzly a couple of years and it's great. I just got some new filters for it. Also use the Festool MIDI with HEPA on all of my Festools and my Bosch sander. All in all this will make my shop a whole lot cleaner.
  6. Just curious, why not Ridgid? They have a LSA that is actually good if you follow the rules they have regarding it. Good quality tool and Milwaukee and Ridgid are made under the same parent company. Also Hitachi is a Chinese company and I've never seen one made outside of China. They make great tools though and Hitachi is a well though of brand on all Continents
  7. I bought an old "Festo" jigsaw. It's old, I have a new knew one but I bought cause it's old. In have to convert it over from U.K. standard to ours and it's going to cost some coin but it's a cool tool. My Dad gave me his old Craftsman circular saw. That too is old and needed a new cord and some work. I don't need it but it's cool. Anyways, that Makita is pretty cool. Sometimes the work in restoring an old tool like this is worth it just to have an d tool that you brought back to life. Just saying p

    Dewalt 9ah

Thanks for posting this Joe. Great to see them side by side.
  9. I've got a Stabilla lot level 48" love it. Would I buy another one? Sure. But I'm looking at a smaller Empire level, way cheaper than the compact 48" one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Dewalt and stilletto....together at last!
  11. Hahahaha I had to look that one up. Must be a Canadian thing
  12. I have the 734 and the cost to upgrade my planer is crazy money but I do own the Powermatic 54HH and it is absolutely amazing. It is way quieter than any jointer I've ever used, the cuts are beautiful and like my easy wood tools the cutter heads are super easy to rotate and or replace though truthfully I haven't had to rotate any. I would love to get the 735, I would certainly replace the blades with helical units if I had the cash for the 735, but for the 734, which I absolutely love by the way, it is waaaayyyyy too expensive. This coming from a Festool guy. In short helical head equals super good cuts, easy blade replacement and huge noise reduction.
  13. Alrighty balloon boy.....I am hoping she is single
  14. Welcome to the forum dude!
  15. Yeah. Makes me want to buy a red on now
  16. Hard to believe you can make something so good even better but they did....
  17. The grounding sounds the same as what you said. I have a metal cable that hooks into the hose area and they provide an additional measure in the form of the metal tape. My only gripe is the tabs don't hold on my Midi clips so I am thinking about cutting the tabs a little deeper on the Oneida. I did end up getting the new hose, cable combo and use that on all of my other Festool and keep the Bosch set up just for the Kapex. It works out great and it was really cheap. Having the Oneida is awesome, I really have not had to change a bag since I got it. I am going to get a CT26 in the near future with that 50 coupon plus a 100 gift card I have. Waiting till I finish the shop though and I have a while to go before that is done.
  18. Gotcha! I had at one point the 27mm then the 50mm and finally settled on the Bosch 32mm non anti static and paid $25 for it!
  19. Yeah, they all have manufacturing issues here and there. I have a bunch of Dewalt USA made tools and love them. Haven't had any manufacturing issues with them at all.
