  1. The nose cone looks the same so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a re-skin. Of course glue guns are so simple every glue gun is basically a re-skin.
  2. $10 here too but we don't usually get great sales. The lowest I can recall ever seeing before was $15
  3. That's why the prices are almost the same too. People doing heavy grinding and using wire brushes mostly there's no point to have a six inch guard in the way when the power is better suited for smaller accessories.
  4. Might be time to stock up for life. https://www.lowes.com/pd/IRWIN-50-Pack-Bi-Metal-Blue-Utility-Knife-Blades/1000069681
  5. I recall seeing an 18X2 version from a euro show as well.
  6. I'm still wondering what he expected to happen with the hackzall. Dumb stuff like that is how you light batteries on fire.
  7. No gimmick...No gimmick.....You're the gimmick............No you're the gimmick. They've worked well for me. You have to be a bit careful not to chip the carbide though.
  8. Betteridge's law of headlines That said, milwaukee makes sure they keep up so most of those will probably show up soon.
  9. I have. Just need one of those diamond chains.
  10. Someone on here could make good money importing and reselling a lot of this stuff.
  11. I know that feeling. The worst is when you've actually managed to reuse a tube a few times then someone doesn't close it up right.
  12. I think Dewalt and Festool are trying to teach us that we can't hesitate or ordering tools. You have to order right away to get in that first batch of buyers with no delays.
  13. You know they make a 90t blade too. The 80t and 90t are really meant for cuts where the cut face is visible so you don't need sanding. For trim where you're only worried about chipout on the edge of the cut 60t will be fine if you don't push the saw through the cuts.
  14. 3/32 orbit is quite small (they range 5/64 to 1/4 generally) so its not going to sand quickly but will leave a very fine finish. That could be a pro or con depending on your needs.
  15. You of all people I'd expect to go with this instead
  16. Doesn't look quite like any blade I've seen, but those look like some big chunks of carbide on it. I can't really see the slot pattern on the blade but that's usually the easiest way to match OEM blades.
  17. Ridgid hyperdrive nailers are $20 off and a bunch of Husky hand tools are half price. These two make great backups/loaners http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Double-Speed-Adjustable-Wrench-Set-3-Piece-48050/203452232 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Locking-Pliers-Set-3-Piece-99454/206721759

Pretty sure this voids the warranty though.
  19. A lot of times either the broken part or whatever broke it already damaged something else or soon will. It's like drying off an ice cube. Not to mention if it's old enough to be out of warranty, the new model you'd get as a replacement is probably much better. I generally don't bother if I need to buy parts and would never go above 10% the price of the tool. I've spent more on parts to modify working tools than to fix broken ones.
  20. People actually pay attention to the rated bit sizes? I always assumed they were made up and trusted my own poor judgement. That is complete BS. I've opened plenty of tools that looked much worse and were working or failed from something non-dust-related. If you take dust control super seriously on the jobsite maybe all your festools will look as clean as off the assembly line but on a normal jobsite the vents suck in dust period. /rant
  21. First off, Home Depot would never agree to sell brand-knockoff tools because it would ultimately hurt the store. It's not Walmart. The strange model numbers are concatenations for sale combos. I have no doubt I could break every one of my (mostly makita) tools including batteries in a single day of good misuse, but I like them so I avoid that. Could be the drywall dust or maybe just terrible luck but that many tools failing sounds like jobsite conditions you don't realize are causing a problem. It's not even necessarily your fault. It could be something as simple as a solvent damaging the circuit board you have no idea about. Finally, I've never heard of Milwaukee itself denying warranty claims. Authorized service centers are a scam, but Milwaukee itself stands behind the tools.

  23. What about Milwaukee no-key? On the topic of the thread it's very quiet...unlike the user cursing at it. All kidding aside I'm not a fan of the connected tools for now but it has a lot of potential with new features.
