Went digging after a router today...

Production routers on left, solid surface custom routers on right.

Basic units and bases left, trimmer setups on right.

Plunge routers.

Factory & custom base plates. Only use most of the factory plates saw was as templates for the custom ones made out of quarter inch thick Corian.

I am a firm believer in setting up a router for a specific task, and only changing out the bit when it gets dull. I keep a couple of routers for the rest of the bits used on an intermittent basis...

Hrmm, think there is another router somewhere else in this mess... or maybe it's just a base... There is another small drawer dedicated to misc. router parts, wrenches, etc..  Meh. I need to pull it all out of the drawers and sort some things out, but that will have to wait until I get a shop set back up again.

Still don't get what the Milwaukee light had to do with this? You know what they say when you start blaming your tools...

It was just the chunks in the sh*t stew. What do they even expect you to be able to hang it on with those "hooks".

Redneck engineering 101:

Step 1: repurpose

Step 2: misuse

Step 3: zip ties.

I needed a beacon to flag a combine down to Oregon so I ripped the bracket and light off a rolled truck cab and stuck it to the welder with some welding magnets. I threw a zip tie on there as a redundant safety tethering mechanism should the magnets fail. Ran some 10 gauge wire left from the corn grinder through the passenger door  into the cigarette lighter. Those welding magnets held up for almost seven hours of 22mph, and three hours of 60-90mph along with high speed crosswinds coming up off the Columbia.
