comp56 Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 who said ya can't make a bowl/dish/basket with a band saw?......here is a bowl I made using a band saw, not only is it a bowl but you can put it away flat......it doesn't hold liquid but it is great for nuts, fruit or candy......started with a piece of black ash, Maple, and Oak again.....a few of my future projects with be made from this as I have much of it .....cut out a pattern and then glue the first inch back together put a folding support on the bottom and bingo .....it's a Bowl........notice the side view and bottom...... 4

BMack37 Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 That's a really neat idea! It looks awesome man
JerryNY Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Wow, that's uber cool. Makes me want a band saw but my attempt would look more like a 2x4 chewed up by a Rottweiler. So it's basically like a wooden spring? Does it take a lot of force to flip the lever to deploy he bowl ? I want to see a video of it in action!
NERemodeling Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 My grandmother used to have something like that but it was in the shape of an apple I thing. Pretty cool stuff. Yours looks much nicer, love the multiple woods. The finish looks great, is that just some sort of wax or oil?
JimboS1ice Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 Pretty nifty there compJimboSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
