  1. I am kinda surprised you guys didn't go
  2. smaller diameter pad with the 3mm stroke would in theory provide a finer finish. the ETSC 125 has an even smaller stroke if you want the finest finish I think it has a 2mm stroke. the bigger sander would get more work done if you have larger surfaces to sand. As others have mentioned the 125 would get in smaller spaces.
  3. The first Milwaukee Pipeline of 2022 has happened. We got quite a few long awaited tools and some we did not expect. There seemed to be missing anything new in the MX Fuel and Packout product offerings. Also hand tools had a much smaller presence than they have had in previous years. What was your favorite announcements? Mine was probably the next gen drills an impacts because they fix the previous versions.
  4. Look at the dual battery option from Milwaukee. It has various motor options and container size options to choose from.
  5. DeWALT could change the third generation Tough System to a packout compatible box and at the same time keep the compatibility with the Tough System wall rack, van rack, and DS Carrier. Chances of this happening at extremely slim borderline never going to happen.
  6. I have not moved to battery mowers but all my handheld equipment is Ego. I would like to see what Ego can design for Commercial grade mowers. Runtime is a big factor into my purchasing decision. I signed papers on December 30th 2021 for a 37 HP EFI 61in SCAG Turf Tiger II ZTR with mulch kit for around $14,000. I mow around 38 properties. I need something with runtime and the Turf Tiger II with the 12 gallon tank and EFI has the runtime. I expect my next ZTR purchase will still be gasoline based. I am considering upgrading my SCAG 48in ZTR with bagger to another bagging ZTR. My 48 is a 2006 model with 4000+ hours and is due for an upgrade. I am also considering waiting on upgrading my 48in and buying a 30in walk behind. either upgrade option could be a good business choice. The 30in would save me some time over my 21in walk behind. The 48in upgrade would be more reliable saving me lost time due to breakdowns. I have really liked the EFI on my new mower because of the huge fuel savings. I would like to get another EFI. This would mean I would have to move up to a 52in because the 48 in does not have an EFI option right now. I expect the mower I buy after this bagging mower will have me consider electric. If the price and runtime are good on the electric 30in SCAG I might consider it over the gasoline option.
  7. Biggest advice I can give you is don't cheap out on organization.
  8. Right now I use Systainers and Tough system for most of my tool storage. Eventually I want to get into designing my own set of 3d printed modular storage bins for small parts storage.
  9. @Altan I have seen this. It is an interesting idea. I am trying to figure out where its place is though. While there is nothing exactly like it, the increasingly large amount of removable chuck drills, might serve a similar function this drill is trying to accomplish. I'm not sure how useful it is for my workflow especially with the added bulk of the switchdriver function. Have you used this drill? Is it is useful enough over a removable chuck drill to make the switchdriver function worth it?
  10. I think I saw someone with a cordless tile saw. Maybe it was ridgid? I would like DeWALT to go with a waterless system like some other saws have gone before they go cordless. As long as it can have the dust collection performance needed to keep the dust down.
  11. Really depends on your perspective. If your going commercial gas then you will likely pay more than battery in some cases.
  12. Depends on what tools were stolen. If it came to my mowing equipment I would 100% get another SCAG. Not sure if I would stick with Ego for handheld lawn equipment though. I have had enough Ego problems with customer service and reliability than I care to admit. For woodworking and other power tools I would stick with my Festool and maybe add Makita. Most of the Festool I currently have I like and would get again. I like my DeWALT and Milwaukee stuff but the motors, while they have lots of power, sound like they run rough. Fit and finish aren't ideal either. For mobile storage I would stick with systainers for my Festool stuff and switch from Tough System to Packout for everything else. For shop storage and organization I have wanted to for awhile to design my own 3d printed organizational system so I would probably do that over my current tough system setup.
  13. I am kinda interested in the 30 inch walk behind from SCAG. I might just have to see what the all electric version is all about. It will be using a commercial grade battery from Vanguard. Hopefully the price isn't terrible. The all electric residential riding mower from SCAG is more expensive than most of their commercial grade gasoline mowers. I don't know pricing on the 30 inch.
  14. Thats not true. Milwaukee batteries are used in other companies tools. I haven't seen any in person but I have seen the tools online.
  15. One piece of good quality 3/4 birch plywood would have costed me over $200 yesterday. All the prices seem to be high.
  16. @bradleyheathhays Fusion360 is an excellent option. I currently subscribe to the paid version myself. There is a "free" version but I felt it was too limiting at least mr my uses. Last I knew you were limited with how many files you could have on your account at any given time. Also something as simple as installing a plugin is not possible on the free version. The free version also does not allow you to sell your plans. Do you currently have a cnc? If not an option you could look into is the Shaper Origin. The Shaper Origin cnc router can go just about as big as you would want as long as you have enough tape to place. The only drawback is you have to be at the router at all times while it is running. You wouldn't be able to send it a file click a button and walk away like you could with other cnc routers.
  17. The corded Festool Carvex line is brushless. You will pay about the same price as it as you would the Metabo HPT.
  18. In drafting a fillet is another word for what in wood working you might call a roundover. fillet and roundover are basically the same thing your taking an edge and rounding over the edge.
  19. Granat and Rubin might have similar grits for your common grits but Rubin is more designed for bare wood. Granat is a nice all around paper that works well on finishes and paints supposedly. it also has the very high grits too for sanding finishes. Granat is more expensive but higher performing. Rubin is cheaper and if all you are doing is sanding bare wood Rubin is a great option to save some money. If you will sand finishes or paint I would not bother with Rubin. I don't have experience with Granat Net. I know it is good with drywall sanding. I'm sure you could probably use it for wood sanding too. In terms of which pad to go with, you sander likely comes with the medium pad. I think the hard pad is more useful than the softest pad because you can buy foam pads that can be placed on the pad that are good for curves.
  20. You could also look at the high speed ratchet. Not sure if torque numbers are the same but the extra speed might be a nice bonus.
  21. If you are not already in the m12 line you might be interested in waiting for the DeWALT ratchet to arrive. I'm not sure on eta for when it will go on sale but it have been unveiled to some extent. As much as I would want to get into more battery platforms I know it is not for everyone.
  22. Festool just announced new products coming to North America. The replacement to the PDC is finally here called the TPC. Works with the updated right angle and eccentric chucks. It is going to be included in a kit with the impact as well. Price has stayed the same. The OF1010 was updated to the OF1010 R. It includes some minor tweaks like a removable dust port and an updated locking mechanism for plunge depth. New sys-mft clamping set and top rock speaker also announced. A new corded ts 55 with a riving knife instead of the kickback brake. Supposed to be twice as fast. A new 27 mm hose connector with a ring to adjust the flow was announced in addition to an option of a 27mm hose that comes with the new connector. There was also some updated cleaning sets. I am not sure what was updated. There is also a new guide rail accessories kit that includes the new guide rail angle adjustment accessory. Anyone going to get any of the new products? I might get the TPC and maybe a cleaning kit but otherwise not interested in much of the new offerings.
  23. They say a finer stroke will give a better finish. A larger stroke will remove material and finish faster but may not leave as nice of a finish. The ets ec line only goes down 3mm stroke where the etsc has 2mm. That being said I still hear people say the go to sander from Festool is the ets ec. I think the ets ec 125/3 is the right option for your needs. You could also look into the Rotex 125 or Rotex 90 which would give you other features that may be of value. Another option you could try is looking at what MIrka offers. I heard their sanders are of a similar quality as Festool.
  24. With Tough system DeWALT could make the vac the footprint of a ds400/ds450. Redesign the lid to fit the hose and motor and you would have a really solid vac. Another option would be make a vac that is more like the Festool CT series. More of a dedicated vac that happens to have mounting points for Tough System.
  25. not my first the current trailer is one of their 12x77 single axel utility. Great trailer
